an unsophisticated question about recoding in a data frame with control structure if {}
Hello all,
I apologize for a terribly simple question. I'm used to using Stata and am trying to `switch' over to R.
I would like to recode a vector in a data frame when the value of it meets the following condition: if (dataframe$factor=='3'){dataframe$thevector<-(an arithmetic mean). What I would like to result is the creation of a new variable within the data frame for

Mono encoding w/ a stereo source.
Crew,
I've run into something a little odd with the vorbis encoder and would
like some input.
I use SpacialAudio's SAM3 Broadcaster and am having problems with the
ogg encoder when I create a mono output stream. It seems as if the
signal level of the left and right sides are being combined before the
encoding process, leaving the sound muddy and overdriven. As such, if I

Is there a linux variation of a program such as this?
Our need is similar but slightly different.
We have one master site that will be preparing the content for
retrasmission.
The problem is that we cannot use live streams to our satellite
stations. We must prepare

Re: desire box
I know SAM2 (or rather, SAM3 now) has this functionality built-in:
http://spacialaudio.com/
It is disabled by default and difficult to step though. Not to mention the
cost of the entire application.
What I found worked the best for me is to have my website output to a file
whatever song somebody clicked on. A script would check the file every few
seconds, and then execute my media player with

icecast2.2 and aac?
ICecast i capable of sorts of streams, that is not your problem.
Your stream source client (DSP) is the part who must be capable of streaming the format you want.
For AAC use oddcast DSP www.oddsock.org capabale of AAC, LAME Mp3, and OGG (Free to use) very good at OGG specially with the vorbis 1.1 aoTuVb3 DLLs
For AAC Plus (HE_AAC) use Orban opticodec for PC (witch is capable of every bitrate

The license for MP3/mp3PRO useage is not quit as you think - first the
webcasters must meet certain base requirements -
Note: No license is needed for private, non-commercial activities
(e.g., home-entertainment, receiving broadcasts and creating a personal
music library), not generating revenue or other consideration of any kind or
for entities with an annual gross revenue less than US$

Actually I think there is already allot of mainstream support for the
format?
In fact many large Gaming developers including EA and Sierra use the format
to drive audio in their gamning - there is allot of hardware supporting the
format as well and many player solutions in place that support it -
However the issue of most concern to me is although for localised encoding

Ditto Scott - you nailed it !!
But the DMCA actually sets rules on requests and processing them without
being considered "interactive" - for instance the time frame allowed from
when requests are made and then processed and actually air (minimum 60
minutes), to displaying your playlist - (can not be displayed public in the
order of actual performance) basically as long as you never
