Alternatively you can just script the window media player control, and bind it to your stream, that should work just fine, assuming you have my directshow filters installed. Doesn't work so well on Mozilla or anything other than IEWin... and I'm worried about using lots of extra software. Thanks for the suggestion tho. -Ian. ICECast in Flash / IEWin
Hello, I'm using a flash player. First It didn't work with icecast 2. The blocking difference between icecast 1 and icecast 2 is that icecast 2 don't send the Content-Length header. So, I made a small PHP proxy and now Flash works very well with icecast 2. Other solution is to add this header in the icecast 2 source code and compile it, but I don't have time to test. My

Also.. Relaying
I also tried installing Icecast 1.31 ... the config file claims its relaying capabilities aren't very well tested and I can verify this. But now I'm concerned that even 2.0 won't work for me in relaying. I'm trying to relay multiple streams from a cluster these hardware encoding devices: http://www.audioactive.com/products/realtime_enc/rte_ovw.html ...to do so you

Metadata Swapping: How do they do it?
Think I answered my own question really. The display in iTunes, for example, is swapping between what in status.xsl would be Stream Title and Current Song. If Song is updated like so: http://admin:password@myserver.pulverradio.com:8000/admin/metadata? mount=/high.mp3&mode=updinfo&song=ACDC+Back%20In%20Black ...then what exactly is the verbage to update StreamTitle?

Problem Two: Icecast Won't Relay...
As a follow-up to this thread: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2004-May/007171.html ... I am still attempting to relay effectively from two separate Audioactive encoders via an icecast server. Since we last discussed this Audioactive have updated their firmware to comply to the standards for MP3 streaming more explicitly. And according to Michael Icecast was patched to be more

Also.. Relaying
I've been working with AudioActive the last couple of days to fix their behaviour... looks like they're going to update their firmware EPROMs. What are the chances that Michael's fix below could be incorporated into a future version, so that all those boxes without the Firmware upgrade will work? -Ian. <p>On 10-May-04, at 7:20 PM, Michael Smith wrote: > On Tuesday 11

Updating MetaData at the Relay
Now that 2.2.0 is out, we can update metadata on-the-fly. At pulverradio.com we are working on an injector that takes the song info from our broadcast automation software and dumps it in (thanks guys for the help). I realize that we can inject the song info like so: http://server.ip:port/admin/metadata?mount=/ mountpoint&mode=updinfo&song=ACDC+Back+In+Black .... but are there

X100P Clone
I'm new to asterisk and fror a cupple of days I heave been googleing the net for digium "clones", because it's very hard for me to get a digium card (X100P). Does anyone Know another substitute for X100P (I know that intel based modem with chip 537/MD3200 is working but I did not find any of those) ? I made it work with an Intel 536 (with a costumised driver that I found on

G4-400mhz enough for CentOS 4.3?
It's that time again. I'm stuck with a bunch of older Powermac G4's that I either need to repurpose or give the heave ho. I've not tried CentOS on Mac hardware before. Would the following config be suitable for a (somewhat slow) workstation? PowerMac G4 400mhz 256mb RAM 40gig ATA disk Some sort of dual-head ATI video setup with 64mb VRAM (I've forgotten which cards they

[PATCH/RFC] virtio: export more headers to userspace
Rusty, is there a reason why we dont export the virtio headers for 9p, balloon, console, pci, and virtio_ring? kvm uses make sync, but I think it is still useful to heave these headers exported as they might be useful for other userspace tools. I dont export virtio.h, because it does not seem to have useful information for userspace and it requires scatterlist.h which is also not exported.

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi Stephan, Thanks for reporting. Now we know it doesn't work on IE 5.5/Windows (but it works on IE5.2 on MAC). You had nice idea to store the file on the icecast2 root. Unfortunately, I already tried it few days ago and it didn't work either...
