osx and icecast
I've got two quick q's about icecast. If these two q's have already
been answered, could someone let me know when so I know where to look
in the archives?
Here's the siutation. Macamp has now gone bunk and I need to broadcast
my dj show from my home to a server that has NullSoft shoutcast. The
dj's normally use winamp's shoutcast plugin to broadcast to the

Mountpoint problems...
I can't figure out exactly what to put as my Icecast webroot
directory, nor what to tell my Winamp Oddcast plugin to name as the
mountpoint. I'm a n00b here and barely know what these words even
mean, lol, but I can get the Oddcast to log in to the Icecast and
people can go to the .m3u file I put into the mountpoint, but it
either just cycles songs or doesn;t play. I noticed that it only

Mounting problems...

Oddcast DSP v3

Yes, Oddcast tells me it's broadcasting test.m3u at ~32kb (I set it
this slow) and
Icecast sees this connection. It also sees when others connect, but
all attempts

Multi-Level Fallbacks
Hi There,
Is there a nice helpfile to telle me how to set up:
* Multi-Level Fallbacks
Multi-level fallbacks allow for specifications of a series of fallback
mounts that you could use, for instance, to set up a series of
progressively lower bitrate streams that would be cascaded through. For
instance, a modem user would connect to the highest bitrate stream, and
then could be cascaded down to

Two sources on one PC
you can run multiple instances of the standlone version of oddcastV3
by just installing it multiple times into different directories...
all config files are kept locally.

WMP and streaming
Hello,
I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.2 and Ices 0.4, configured and
started them. The logs show no errors, but while I'm able to stream to
Winamp 5, it doesn't work with WMP 9 or 10. The latter simply downloads the
file and even halts when it reaches a certain point.
This is the mountpoint's URL:

live streaming on the web using a link
I have upgraded my streaming servers, I have a Solaris 9 server with
darkice-0.15 and Solaris 9 server with icecast-2.2.0. Now the index.html
code will not work with the new versions of darkice and icecast2. I did
found an email that said I needed to use http://url of site. tld/icecast
mount point.m3u. So in darkice I found "mount point of this stream on
the IceCast2 server" which

Encoding or Playback problem?
Hi all,
Have trouble encoding / playing back OGG using WinAmp + plugin. I encoded
the files from .WAV with Ogg drop RC2. Seems to be ok. When I try and play
them back though I get very very weird sound effects (some kind of
"wobbling", some bass frequencies that are usually in the background seem to
get more emphasised and they seem to have some kind of strange echo / reverb

Getting started...where do I start?
Hello list,
I'm really new to this sort of thing, and I just installed Icecast on a
WinXP machine. As far as I can tell, the server itself is running, but I
have no clue how to get it to actually serve audio content. Basically, I
have a rather large folder-tree of mp3s (and some oggs) stored in a
directory called "c:/mp3s" (for example). I want to make these available as
my own

Problems streaming Ogg Vorbis with icecast2+ices
Hello,
Perhaps it is a typical question but i've got stuck. I'm using icecast2+ices
to stream some ogg vorbis files or voice_in_life (/dev/dsp) over the
network/internet.
All seems to work fine, for example using:
ogg123 http://127.0.0.1:8000/mount
works :). And:
ogg123 http://my_internet_ip:8000/mount
works too from another pc over internet and far away :).
Using mplayer works fine

Of course. But that's not the whole story. Microsoft only
supports MP3 because so many people listen to mp3 radio
stations and files. And before

Hmm ... How can I recognize, that the changes are detected? I Changed
the playlist, sent the kill -SIGHUP command, and watched the cue File.
But nothing changed. Or ... did ices finished playing the current song
and starts after that the new song from the new playlist?
