Hello and Stream Listing
You should know not all players support OGG without plugins either. Mp3 will play in 98% of the software. I've tested it in Winamp,Media Player, Realplayer Did you remove the <!--- and the --> around the directory section? Also icecast would need access to outgoing port 80. Or it could be this from the FAQ First of all, icecast must have been built with YP support. This is

Hello and Stream Listing
Hello Jason, Jason wrote: > Did you remove the <!--- and the --> around the directory section? > Also icecast would need access to outgoing port 80. I have limited control of the streaming server. I have a web control panel and that's with a few setting that can be changed. (start and stop the server, change passwords, setup relays and enter YP servers) There is a section

stream delay
I noticed that my ogg stream was 2 hours behind today. Is that a normal thing with all icecast streams? I had other people try it that have never been to that stream and they were 2 hours behind too. What is that caused from? How can that be fixed? Thanks John http://www.kqlz.org

I think what they're trying to do here is not only block non-SCDNAS servers, but also as many non-Shoutcast sources as they can. Think about it - if you're streaming MP3Pro without

Brainstorming Idea: Possibly add an xml api to the current yp logic, that way 3rd party providers could parse the stations in the yp off icecast.org in there media players. of course a plugin for winamp would be the first obvious choice(since the already have there own media library but uses yp.shoutcast.com), but others would follow. I remember seeing something previously at dir.xiph.org but

ThePirateBay.org take advantage of HTML5's <VIDEO>
Word just came in from TorrentFreak that ThePirateBay.org have been working on a streaming video website for countless months that takes advantage of the free media formats OGG, Theora and Vorbis. While filesharing in itself is a controversial subject, this will place HTML5's <VIDEO> and <AUDIO> tag--and more importantly the OGG Theora+Vorbis multimedia format--in the

ICES with MP3Pro?
Greg, Yes, I have noticed that new codec.. AACPlus. Its really impressive in it's abilities, and it's sound quality. I tried to open it up with Windows Media Player and my Flash Player.. didn't seem to like it very much. While It's really kewl as a codec, and it has great support with a couple players, and limited support for the rest, I'll stick with the mainstream for now,

Bug in nested_attributes_for: question about best way to patch
I''ve discovered what I''m pretty confident is unexpected behavior in accepts_nested_attributes_for, and am developing a patch, but I''ve encountered a question about how the core team would prefer the implementation to look. Here''s the bug: when assigning to a belongs_to relationship (and I believe one-to-one, but I haven''t verified yet) if you mark the

Make it shoutcast DNAS compatible, perhaps? It's true that over the past years

Reading Monty's message, I better re-post this one :-). In another thread the following was said: > It might help if you also mentioned that the sound quality of Ogg is > significantly better than MP3 (assuming that you use regular MP3, not > MP3Pro), especially at 32kbps. Speaking of which, would there be anything to stop Vorbis, maybe not v1 but in the future, to use similar

generic onDragStart onDrag and onDragFinish events extracted from scriptaculous?
Hi folks. I''m working on a project where I need some drag and drop, but I need to implement what happens in a very different way, so I''m creating my own class for it. I don''t want to reinvent the wheel and redo Thomas'' excellent drag/drop functionality, nor do I want to copy/paste his code over into mine. So, I was wondering, has anyone tried to extract
