Need help with Listener Authentication
Hello everyone, I set up everything on the icecast server but the authentification. I don't know what I am doing wrong, so could someone maybe send me a functioning icecast_full config file where I can check what I am doing wrong with this? I already read the manual, but in this case the manual is too short - or my brain is just too old ;) Or maybe I have to check for a special file

User authentication using local file
Hi, There is a note in the document: *For a password database it?s enough to have only the user and password fields. For a user database, you need to set also uid, gid and preferably also home (see VirtualUsers). (gecos) and (shell) fields are unused by Dovecot.* You can leave empty what you don't need. User authentication using local file
I am not sure if I understand it correctly, that this configuration is for each user has its mailbox in its home directory. This is not my intention, I have in 10-mail.conf the mailloration configured as: mail_location = maildir:/opt/local/var/spool/dovecot/%u:LAYOUT=fs > On 23 Mar 2023, at 12:37, Duc Anh Do <doducanh2710 at gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi, > > The args parameter

User authentication using local file
Hi, The args parameter of userdb contains scheme, username format and location of the password file. Please take a look this link https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/authentication/passwd_file/ For example, mine is: userdb { driver = passwd-file args = username_format=%u /etc/dovecot/imap.passwd } $ head /etc/dovecot/imap.passwd to at localhost.local

Icecast dies
Genuis karl! The change sorted it. Now when the source disconnects, the winamp stream just stopped (and went onto the next stream in the playlist in my case) Cheers for your help, Oddsock, could you build a compiled windows version of icecast with this fix (and also the relay on demand default setting as enabled, also fixed by karl) Whenever you have a spare moment, it would make me very very

Questions on setting up icecast
yep, they simply forward the bitstream to icecast. And in general, bitrate changes are handled by most listening clients, although very few I have found (if any) can handle samplerate changes appropriately. oddsock At 10:03 AM 9/14/2004, you wrote: >You mentioned these programs and their "no-reencoding" mode. I cannot for the life of me get listener authentication to work. Would it be possible to send me a complete xml file that has listener authentication setup? listener authentication for multiple mountpoints; client connections seems high
Two quick questions: 1. Is it ok to use the same password file for multiple mountpoints, or will that cause problems? 2. Why would my clients number 113 larger than my number of listeners? It was right earlier today, but when I restarted the sources it increased by 113, and it has stayed that high since then. I find it especially odd since I have clients set to 100 in icecast.xml, and

cannot get icecast and ices to talk...authentication failed
I have a weird one... I installed icecast 2 and ices .23 on Mandake, and am not having any luck I compiled and installed the nightly icecast just today. It seems to work fine, however when I telnet to it (10.0.0.3, port 8000), I am unable to login unless the first line contains ONLY the password. I used ethereal to see that iceS is trying to send to authenticate, and it is sending (as the first
