You might also take a look at jack (jackit.sf.net) which can pipe

Hi, all! I'm kinda new to Ubuntu Linux though i like it now better than Windows. The only reason i haven't completely ditch Windows is i play Fiesta Online (Outspark). While googling for fiesta-like game for ubuntu, i happen across a Fiesta version (gamigo) that can run under linux. I Know It's A Stupid Question......
........But I'm trying to give my son a "cool-yet-kind-of-geeky" 13th
Birthday Present......he hinted he liked the CentOS logo, but where
would I find things that are branded with it?....searching the web
doesn't really help me much, only because I'm not sure what I need to be
looking for...any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Unanswered question
How long does one have to typically wait for an answer to a post?
Tomorrow my message will have been up a week, and I've gotten no replies.
It was about whether a file, while it was being written to, could subsequently be opened by another client for reading. I used a DVR with chasing play as an example. Didn't seem like that difficult of a question, but maybe it isn't geeky

IceS output to alsa sound card
Hi Guys,
I'd reflect Vieri's question actually, because there must be a way of
doing it? Maybe not with ICES, but maybe combines with JackIT?
The reason for my interest is I work in a radio station in Spain, and
because of the geographics where I am we have to relay around a lot.
If there is a way of sending an incoming feed into ICES, and sending
it out in various directions, would

OT Mexican domains?
Hola!
In case there are some mexican readers here...
It is little difficult for an english speaker to find information
about mexican domains. Is it possible to register a domain like
"fiesta.mx"? I have seen sites selling ".com.mx" and similar but not
just ".mx".
Thanks,
Peter

PAM/winbindd/smb_pass/pam_smb_auth/smb_ntdom to authenticate SSH
Hello,
I'm currently running winbind (from Samba 2.2.3a) so that our
Windows users can ssh into our Linux box. I've set up Samba,
PAM and winbind, and it's working well. Users can see their
files, and they can log in using their windows usernames. No
problem.
When users access their Samba share, they don't need
to reauthenticate, because they've already done so with

Melbourne Asterisk Users meet next Thursday
Hi all,
If you're in Melbourne Australia and interested in Asterisk, you're
invited to join us for a casual evening to talk about Asterisk, VOIP,
networks, and just generally get geeky about IP phone stuff.
Ultimately, I think it would be interesting and useful to turn this
into a monthly get-together, so I'd like to talk about that too.
Anyone with an interest is welcome; from

TE110P yellow errors
Hi All,
I have a TE110P in E1 mode, in a dell poweredge 250.
The 30 channel E1 supplied is from a telco in Australia, with the following
in my zaptel.conf:
span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3
bchan=1-15
dchan=16
bchan=17-31
(yes the provider has NOcrc4 for some reason)
After installing the latest cvs libpri and zaptel, I successfully loaded
the kernel modules.
The card is verified as not sharing an

IceS output to alsa sound card
Hi.
I'm new to icecast.
I can see that IceS can source an input MIC, for example, from a sound card.
Can it also output a playlist to a sound card (to the speakers)?
If so, how?
Thanks

Odd icecast hiccup problem with low-bandwidth cellular client
Here's a very odd question - I don't know if anybody can even begin to
answer.
I am attempting something very odd and geeky. I set up an icecast Win32
server streaming a 96kbps mp3 stream (using all the latest as of today
software, winamp, icecast2 and oddcast v3) so I can listen to it on my cell
phone while at work.
My phone does GPRS EDGE data at 131kbps-ish, just barely fast enough to
