Hello everybody, I need some help please. I want to compile the ices-0.3 and ./configure works perfectly. But if i want to do "make" there appear these error-messages: [...] gcc: /usr/lib/libmp3lame.so: No such file or directory make[3]: *** [ices] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory '/usr/ices-0.3/src' [...] if i search now for the libmp3lame.so file, i find it in /usr/lib/ so

streaming live mp3?
Hello, Is there a chance that either ices0 will get support for live-streaming from line-in or ices2 for streaming mp3? I tried darkice, but this didn't work out with a decent sampling rate on my box (see [1])... Also tried liveice, but this does not seem to work at all with icecast2 (when changing the port to 8001 I got this simple UI but icecast2 didn't notice any new mount). I looked

AW: Ices 2.0 - make error
I see that libxml1-1.8.17 and libxml-2.5.10 are installed. is this perhaps the problem? But so what it looks like i also can forget it trying to install ices2 for live streaming 'cause OpenBSD makes problems. argl, i think i can give up livestreaming with OpenBSD. <p>-----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: owner-icecast@xiph.org [mailto:owner-icecast@xiph.org] Im Auftrag von Geoff

Ices 2.0 - make error
I don't know if this thread belongs here, but I'll try it anyway. I want to install ices2 on my OpenBSD 3.4 server. If I want to "make" Ices2 there appears this error: /usr/ices-2.0.0/src/ices.c:117: undefined reference to 'xmlFree' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status **** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ices-2.0.0/src (line 242 of Makefile). **** Error code 1

ices0 and ices2 on /dev/dsp?
Simple newbie question (if I had the necessary hardware, I'd just try it). Can I run both ices0 and ices2 simultaneously, point them at the same source (/dev/dsp) and then use icecast to broadcast both ogg vorbis and MP3 streams? -- Jeff Simmons jsimmons@goblin.punk.net Simmons Consulting - Network Engineering, Administration, Security "You

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi, Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though. And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!? I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps prebuffering. I need something

ezstream
hi everybody. I am involved in a Internet Radio Station in Bristol UK. We are using a icecast 2 server and are trying to work out what to use to upstream. Currently we are using darkice which seems to work well. However it does not support playlists. I have looked at muse-streamer but it is currently far to unstable. Therefore ices or ezstream seem to be the option. From what I can gather

using the latest icecast and ices to stream both ogg and mp3
So basically, I download and install ices 0.3, fire it up as well and then using the currently running icecast server, just set a new mountpoint. Instead of /ksl.ogg I would make a /ksl.mp3 mountpoint. This would be configured in the configuration file included with ices 0.3? I am only doing live streaming, feeding a raw audio feed into the box, and then encoding it on the fly. Thanks much. KJ

Crossfader for ices 0.3
FYI, I've added a crossfader to the ices0 trunk in subversion: http://svn.xiph.org/icecast/trunk/ices0 It requires LAME support (of course). To use it, either pass -C <secs> on the command line, or add a <Crossfade>secs</Crossfade> node to the Playlist section of the config file. Reencoding must also be enabled on your stream. NOTE: the crossfader can't resample, so all

creating live mp3-stream
hi! Currently I'm using icecast1 and darkice to send a live-stream ... now I updateted icecast2 ... but is there a way to create 2 different MP3 streams (with 2 different qualities) using a streaming client? ices2 would be great but it only supports ogg :-( As real radiostation we have to use MP3 because most auf the windows playeres still don't support ogg ... :-(( My boss wants an

Hi Abhijit I can't answer your questions but I would be very interested in a fully working binary of Ices2 for Win32 once it's ready. Thanks for the effort. title streaming with ices
Unfortunately I am still using ices0 because our streams are mp3 streams. I looked at switching to ogg but many of our listeners have specialized players in devices such as Braille notetakers and other accessible devices that don't work with ogg streams. This station has 7 streams and runs on a linux server. Also to my knowledge Stream Licensing doesn't pick up ogg streams very well

No ices for icecast ?
Hi, and a Happy New Year to everyone. I have followed this tutorial to install icecast on Centos 5.5, http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_webradio_with_icecast2_ices2 but cannot find the ices package for sending the audio to icecast for it to stream. I would like to send the data as mp3, if there is a suitable program to do this. Has anyone on the list done this on Centos? Kind Regards,
