icecast 2.0.0 chroot problem
Hmm Im not too familar with RH AS, I have been using Redhat since 5.2 though, and in my experiences its better to be safer than sorry. Essentially what you are allowing is the icecast user the ability to login to a shell, which can lead to disaster. Just a piece of advice, I would disable the shell on that user!! Good Luck and let me know if you have any other questions on getting Icecast up.

icecast 2.0.0 chroot problem
Thanks for the superfast reaction. You got me started thinking. I got rid of the following lines number 3 and 8 hereunder. They were present in the example xml and I think that they don't belong here because icecast won't run if chroot is not being used........ Now it starts. I am very happy about this!!!! :-) JK 1 <security> 2 <chroot>0</chroot> 3

icecast 2.0.0 chroot problem
Not sure if this has been fully answered yet, but in order for chroot services to run effectively you will need to change the ownership of all directories and files to, in this case, nobody:nobody. If you are not very familar with running chroots, you will also need to disable the shell login within your /etc/passwd file ex like this: icecast:x:504:505::/opt/icecast:/sbin/nologin In this case I

icecast shuffle
Hi there, I am using icecast with ezstream. I have several mountpoints. For each mountpoint I play a set of tracks which form a cd. I create the filelists with a command similar to the following: find ~/Music/lennycravitz/* -type f -name '*.mp3' > ~/Music/lennycravitz/lennycravitz.m3u So far, everything is great. Now I would like to be able to use a shuffle/random

How to get time differences in consistent units?
I'm still having trouble getting to grips with time classes. I wish to calculate the difference in days between events. Browse[1]> insp.j$First [1] "2002-02-19 13:00:00 NZDT" Browse[1]> spray.j$Date [1] "2001-11-29 13:00:00 NZDT" Browse[1]> insp.jk - spray.j$Date Time difference of 82 days If I save insp.jk to a vector, I get a nice useful value of 82.

VFS module core dump in make_connection
Hi, I have a problem with a VFS module that I am developing. The module has been runing fine under 3.0.6, but then I didn't have time to work on it for a while and meanwhile I upgraded samba to the latest sarge debian release 3.0.14a and now that I have got the sources and again recompiled my module and included it into the /usr/lib/samba/vfs dir, its now core dumping. I am sort of at loss

Urgent: DTMF does not work with, rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000
Alex thank you for your response. In this case we are USING INBAND, though I have tried both. Nothing works. Yes ser is configured with mediaproxy. Thank you, -JK JK, In-band or RFC2833 DTMF signaling? Also, unless you have SER configured with a media proxy, the actual "call" is not running through SER. It's a signaling proxy only. -- Alex Balashov Evariste Systems Web :

Discrete Multivariate Analysis (log-linear model)
I'm reading a old statistics book "MARVIN J. Karson (1982), Multivariate Statistical Methods, The IOWA State University Press, Iowa". In the chapter XI i can find some information about discrete multivariate analysis. This chapter is restricted to an introduction to log-linear models for analysis of multidimensional contingency tables. For example, in the log-linear model for
