Basically what he wants is for the client to first receive a static file (requesting donations of course) and then on to the live stream (*not* intermittently).

Yes, I downloaded the aumix utility and am using it now. Set line in to %50 then %25 and to record but still the same thing. I'm streaming from the line in on the sound card which is being fed from a portable radio nearby. I get the distortion whether I have the audio fed into 'line in' or not. hi, in an attempt to set up a little stream, i downloaded and installed both icecast2 and liveice-xmms. i can start icecast2, and i can modify the settings to the xmms plugin from within xmms, but i'm at a loss as to how to create a stream, connect it to the server, or then listen to it. i've been looking at the docs on the icecast page[1]. can anyone point me in the right direction?
