Ices0.3 and Perl 5.8.3
Has anyone got Ices0.3 to complile and make under when linking with Perl 5.8.3? I posted this a while back...but it needs a revival :D <p><p>I'm sure it's a Perl problem (maybe way I've compiled it?) but here's where 'make' throws down it's gloves and runs off into the distance. -------------------------------------------------------------------

libshout1-based mp3 streaming to icecast2
According to what I've read on this mailing list, it should be possible to stream MP3 data to icecast2 using ices-0.2.3, which I assume also should be the case for any other streaming client based on libshout1. So I decided to test this out to see if we really could dispense with icecast1 altogether on the server I help administer. My results were not promising, to say the least. I wiped out

creating live mp3-stream
hi! Currently I'm using icecast1 and darkice to send a live-stream ... now I updateted icecast2 ... but is there a way to create 2 different MP3 streams (with 2 different qualities) using a streaming client? ices2 would be great but it only supports ogg :-( As real radiostation we have to use MP3 because most auf the windows playeres still don't support ogg ... :-(( My boss wants an

Problems streaming Ogg Vorbis with icecast2+ices
Hello, Perhaps it is a typical question but i've got stuck. I'm using icecast2+ices to stream some ogg vorbis files or voice_in_life (/dev/dsp) over the network/internet. All seems to work fine, for example using: ogg123 http://127.0.0.1:8000/mount works :). And: ogg123 http://my_internet_ip:8000/mount works too from another pc over internet and far away :). Using mplayer works fine

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Hey All. I have recently upgraded my streaming radio station to icecast2 type streaming. I, however miss the stats logs in icecast 1. These logs would list the number of listeners, and more importantly their ip addresses. I parsed this onto a nice looking web page, so local users in my LAN could know who was listening to the radio station. I guess icecast2 has some built in web serving

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
icecast2 is a broadcast server and will broadcast both ogg vorbis and mp3 streams. This assumes that you have a source client which can produce an ogg vorbis and mp3 stream and send it TO an icecast2 server. With mp3 streams, shoutcast mp3 metadata is supported, however you cannot use the shoutcast DSP as a source stream to an icecast2 server. Current clients that we know about that can

Problem connecting to icecast2
I'm no expert on Ices0.3 but that config doesn't look right to me. I'm guessing that it's imperative to have the server config as part of the stream section since you can have multiple streams from one source going to multiple destinations (I think anyways.. :) Take a look at my config for ices0.3 below : --------------------------------------------------- <?xml

Transcoding from icecast2->icecast2 results in &quot;garbage&quot;
Hi. Already talked to oddsock. But the problem seems not to be that easy to solve. Transcoding from shoutcast -> icecast2 works perfect. Anybody got a solution for this / experienced the same problem? Need help quite urgently :-((( <p>Thank you Stefan --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from

[Re: icecast2 ??]
Dear list, I agree with the main points that have been stated here lately -- icecast2 appears not ready for prime time (because of lack of web presence / tarball and rpm downloads / some documentation on line) and icecast1 community needs a support forum if this list no longer is one. It would be so simple to spell out the statuses on www.icecast.org -- Status of icecast1, status of

Guide on icecast2-yellowpages - Version 0.1
Hi everybody, ince some people on this list have asked for further details on how to implement your own scripts for running a yellowpages-directory with icecast2 I've written a small guide on it (please see the textfile attached to this email). At the moment, surely, this is just an initial release. But hopefully it can serve as a basis for a documentation project on the icecast2-

suggestion: add mp3 support to ices2
don't forget about streamTranscoder . it works well ., i actually have all ogg archives , and when one is played , i have scripts to auto-transcode an mp3 compatible stream for those who are not in the know . (http://theDV8network.com for examples ) and http://transcoder.sourceforge.net for a link to the transcoder site ( i think ) a. <p><p>On Tue, 20 Jan 2004, Josephus wrote:
