logrotate. Bug or am I blind?
Hello!
I having a problem with the permissions of some of my logfiles.
It seems that when the files are rotated, the user/group is root root and the permissions are rw for root only.

Hi Karl,
I would like to send you the output, but after installing strace on my
FreeBSD, i get the following:

Using icecast2 with MP3 problems
I've downloaded and compiled icecast from cvs and the ices-0.2.3 from
the download area for MP3 support.. (I'd use ogg, except I have 1000's
of mp3. I'll re-rip them, but not today) 8)
Is there a particular version of the icecast2 server that works w/ the
ices-0.2.3 I'm using? I'm having difficulty getting the two to
communicate.

bad buffering
Hi all!
I installed icecast & ices (from CVS)
Enerything runs, but with some problems:
When I connect to the server (with XMMS or MPlayer)
the buffer runs empty very quickly, causing interruptions.
My "server" is an old Pentium 120 with 64MB RAM ,a HD of 8G and an
ethernet NIC.
(I know it isn't much, but I'm tired of taking my CD collection to
work.) I ripped the tracks in

Libshout compiles fine, but ices wont configure correctly. It wouldn't
find shout_new in libshout, lame_encode_flush_nogap in mp3lame
nor ov_open in libvorbisfile.. (nor is libtool found, but I copied it
from libshout.)

Error while compiling Ices 0.4
Dear All,
I am sorry if this mail has already been posted to the mailing list.
I am trying to cross compile Ices 0.4 for my ARM target board in
ubuntu 8.04 but the configure script is terminating with the error of
not being able to find an usable libshout.

Is the above a typo. They look the same with the exception of the "=". I am new to linux so please
be forgiving.
I downloaded both ices and libshout. I tried to compile with "--with-shout-config=/etc/stream" but
this returned the same result as in the previous email:

Cannot build ices0/libshout2 on Mac OSX 10.4.2
Hi -
I'm rebuilding my OSX system and I can't get ices0 to build - or to be
more exact, can't get libshout2 to build.
I started by using DarwinPorts, and icecast2 & libogg & libvorbis
seemed to build OK. The install of ices0 then gave up at the libshout2
config stage with output like this:

icecast2 mountpoints maximum
We are using icecast as stream-relay for a true narrowcast solution
we've developed. The idea behind the system is that each individual
client gets it's own mountpoint.
Basically we have an application that creates streams. Its written in
c++ and uses libshout to handle connecting to icecast.
Everything works fine, as long as we keep the number of mountpoints
below 347. As soon as we

libshout2 namespace
AFAIK applications that want to keep libshout1 included for compatibility with icecast1 streaming
will get problems with the struct and function namespace as it is organized now in libshout2.
is there any way to avoid the problem or we should all simply move to ogg and fuck mp3 streaming
all-in-once?

Statically linked ices0
Hi,
I'm trying to statically link ices0, but the configure scripts isn't
really agreeing with me. When I do this:
./configure --prefix=/radio/server --enable-shared=no
--enable-static=yes --without-perl --without-vorbis --without-faad
--without-flac
I still get a dynamically linked binary (linked to a lot of stuff I
specified I didn't want, but that's besides the point):
