bit/bytes <= broadcasting : the state of art ?
Hi, Our webradio (Let's Go Zik - http://www.letsgozik.com) works with donation and partenship. I think it's the only way to keep a webradio alive for the moment... We are making our radio in a associative way... It's quite hard to "find" listeners. Currently we are nearly broadcasting for 60 simultaneous listeners (and approx. 5000 differents listeners per months)...

Fallback
Hi, I'm trying the following settings but it seams that it's not working :( While I try to switch down the server a, the fallback is not used. The "/letsgozik-HiQ-backup" is working (localy). An idea ? <relay> <server>a</server> <port>xxxxxxx</port> <mount>/letsgozik-HiQ</mount>

Fallback
Thanks for the answer. How can I do a "failback" for a relayed stream ? The idea is to set up a relay that can use for the same mountpoint two connection. Source Authentification
Hi, I've just switched to icecast 2... I was using some shell script that were re-encoding stream at differents bitrate but they aren't working anymore with icecast 2 :-( What is the new authentification protocol ? Previously, I was sending : SOURCE $PASSWORD $DESTMOUNTPOINT x-audiocast-name: $NAME x-audiocast-url: $URL x-audiocast-genre: $GENRE x-audiocast-bitrate: $BITRATE

How analyze performance (buffering) problems ?
Hello, I'm looking for a method to track stream performance problems, I mean : why does listeners got buffering ? We are using two "front relay" that are hosted by differents providers. The front relays are connected to our main server (which encode) that is using two ADSL connections from two differents providers. How can I do to know if there is a problem between "Front relay

Hi Oddsock, Like Clement, I am sure Nullsoft is still "offering" AOL's bandwidth since I think Nullsoft is not part of AOL anymore. About the new broadcasting methods, is the multicast technology already available? I have heard only few providers are equipped with multicast enabled routers. What about p2p streaming, is it really reliable? When I see Peercast's statistics, only

icecast2 relaying question
I understand there are two types of relays in icecast2. The master relay which relays everything from a source and a point relay which relays a specific mount point from a source. I have a server which has 3 streams. I want to relay 2 of them. How can I do this? Can I define two relays and two mountpoints within the xml config file? Do i do this in the same relay tag: <relay>

parsing icecast 1 and icecast2 logs in GUI web format
I know this was mentioned some time back, but I am curious if anyone has had any further success with this. My radio station is looking for a nice clean comprehensive overview of all connections to our icecast 1 and 2 servers. Someone had tweaked the webalizer program to render all the stats in a nice GUI format. However, there were still a couple items missing. Just wondering what everyone else

client disconnects after one song is played || Winamp
I will give the older version of winamp a try. Interestingly enough, I found that zinf on linux on the internet does work. I wonder if these other clients on mac and winblows use an out dated version of vorbis. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to

Odd icecast hiccup problem with low-bandwidth cellular client
Here's a very odd question - I don't know if anybody can even begin to answer. I am attempting something very odd and geeky. I set up an icecast Win32 server streaming a 96kbps mp3 stream (using all the latest as of today software, winamp, icecast2 and oddcast v3) so I can listen to it on my cell phone while at work. My phone does GPRS EDGE data at 131kbps-ish, just barely fast enough to

A big 'Thank you' to the developpers
Thanks a lot for the new encoder_example and the two pass encoding. I was not yet able to compare the gain of it against my previously encoded video (HD content takes a lot of time to encode). Why it can not be used with -v ? Could it be possible in the future ? I had better result with -v than with -V before. Congratulations again. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was
