icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Here is a php script that parses out the stats.xml file from the admin of the icecast2 server. It currently only parses the page out to variables and still needs a bit of work. anyways here is the php source files http://cvs.casterclub.com/dev/icecast2_status/v1.3/ice2_conf.phps http://cvs.casterclub.com/dev/icecast2_status/v1.3/ice2_status.phps <p><p>Dave St John CEO Mediacast1

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Hi: You can get the info you want through the icecast2 admin interface. To use this, do the following: 1. Edit the following fields of the icecast.xml file: admin-user - set to the username to log into the admin system with. admin-password - The password to use with the username above. admin-root - the directory which will contain the XSL files for the admin interface. 2. Now copy

Icecast2 and Ices2 and Authentication Probs.

example config for icecast2 relaying
Hi Kerry: I've not used relaying, but looking at the config example, I can see two ways you could do this. If you just want to completely mirror your internal server on the outside one, you could do: <master-server>X</master-server> <master-server-port>8000</master-server-port> <master-update-interval>120</master-update-interval>

Getting stats from icecast2
Hi: Just upgraded our icecast2 server. No hitches. couple of questions though. What do I have to request to get the .xsl page of stats? Can't remember the page name so I don't know if it's working or not. The other thing is stats.xml. It now seems to need authorisation. Where do I define the username and password for this? Icecast2 issues continue
Hi: For the record, the other two streams also died this morning, at what looks to have been about the same time. The ices log shows nothing unusual, there's just no more songs. I understand though that this time, ices died. The error log would support this. Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
>Using stream transcoder (also an oddsock tool) instead of multiple instances of oddcast DSP might help. Hmm, there is another problem. From this transcoder I can't choose my input device. I have 2 sound cards. First one is making an mp3 archive from audio source and the other one is/will be used for broadcasting. >and make sure you are using the latest version of the plugin. also try

Simpal Question
Hi, have you the full url to that plug in as I cannot find it there sorry. Andrew <p>Hi: I would suggest using winamp with the oddcast DSP plugin from oddsock.org. You can get it to stream live input by using the advanced controls mode. Geoff. <p> -- Geoff Shang <gshang@uq.net.au> ICQ number 43634701 Make sure your E-mail can be read by everyone!

Re [ogg]
Hi: AFAIK, there are no unix docs for icecast2. You know the drill - code it first, document it later. Remember, this is still in pre-release state. Having said that, the icecast.xml file shows all available tags (I think). Re [ogg]
Hi: If you're just wanting to serve static files then the fileserve function of icecast will probably serve you better. But yes, you would have to make a thousand files. Probably better to write some kind of script to push a .m3u or .pls file generated from the filename passed as a parameter. At least then you wouldn't have lots of tiny m3u files all over the place. icecast 1.3 or 2 ???
Hi: Depends what you want. If you plan to stream MP3 then icecast 1.x is tried and tested, but is not undergoing any further development. icecast2 will stream ogg vorbis as well as MP3. The MP3 stuff in icecast2 is new and the metadata support is only available in CVS and I don't know how well that side of things has been tested. I can't speak for MP3 streaming with icecast2, but
