icecast2 password bug?
There is a recent thread on the Oddcast forum regarding this problem. Checkout the last message. http://www.oddsock.org/openbb/read.php?TID=928 I had the same problem the other day when testing IceCast2 for the first time. I haven't had a chance to test the solution so perhaps you can let me know if it solves the problem. Regards, Ross Levis. > -----Original Message----- > From:

icecast2 password bug?
there is quite a bit of confusion regarding this bit.... as of a few weeks ago, new funtionality was added to icecast2 to support mountpoint-level authentication. This means that you can now configure icecast2 to have a different encoder username and password for each mountpoint that you specify in your config file. These options are optional however, most people probably don't need any

icecast2 password bug?
Thanx to you, my friend! 2:59am - Finally my oddcast get connected with icecast2! Your solution worked ok. I set <mount-username> "source" and password the same as in <authentication><source-password> But...came to life another little problem: When I say to oddcast plugin that send mp3 data instead ogg, it seems to work ok but winamp clients are not able to listen

oddcast plugin behaviors
hi oddsock, Your oddcast plugin is very good, currently is able to connect to icecast, icecast2 and shotcast servers; that's way is very usefull. Well, I know you know all that... :-) But I have some problems with it: <p>1-The plugin always try to attach to winamp, so when winamp is minimized or moved, oddcast's window does it too. At this point, all ok. What about if the plugin

Icecast2 Configuration
I think I figured everything out on my own, BUT it gives me this error each time I attempt to play a stream (using WinAmp's oddcast plugin). I have made sure multiple times that the passwords in the Icecast config file & oddcast config box are both the same! icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi, Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though. And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!? I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps prebuffering. I need something

client disconnects after one song is played || Winamp
I will give the older version of winamp a try. Interestingly enough, I found that zinf on linux on the internet does work. I wonder if these other clients on mac and winblows use an out dated version of vorbis. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to

Icecast2 admin via web.
hello people, I have three questions now: 1 - how can I administrate (kick, accept, ban, display) the connections to my icecast2 server via web? (as in shoutcast) 2- is posible to specify some intro.mp3 and backup.mp3 as in shoutcast server? (or is in project?) -- intro.mp3 is streamed to each user just before begin to stream live music, here we can send him our broadcast ID, some

mp3 streaming with Icecast2 on win32
Hi Just a quickie - Is it currently possible to stream both ogg and mp3 from (different mountpoints on) the same icecast2 server using the win32 binaries? (oddsock!) How about other builds? I mentioned this 1 or 2 years back but it's still not fixed. I presume it's a Icecast2 server problem. I'm using the latest Oddcast client, and my server host Mediacast1 has just updated to the latest Icecast2. I'm currently streaming a track in Vorbis format called: M?ire Brennan - I L?thair D? It shows this correctly in Winamp on the broadcast PC. On the Icecast Status page,

Icecast2 YP extention
I think we definetly need to get YP authentication into Icecast2 soon, but I'd like to propose an extension to the draft now... with action=add: banner=URL This allows the Icecast2 server to supply a URL for a graphical banner to represent the radio stream instead of just it's name. On the server end it could fetch this URL, scale/convert it as needed, and prehaps use it with the name

mount points and sourcing from winamp
Hi: I know it's possible to listen to a stream mounted on a mountpoint using winamp. I'd like to know if it's possible to make the shoutcast DSP plugin source a stream on a mountpoint? If so, how do you do it? Does the version matter? If you can't, will plugins like oddcast do it? Geoff. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage:

Icecast2 Configuration
If you are getting "login with invalid or missing password" it means one of a few things : * you have not selected Icecast2 as the server type in the DSP config * you are not using the most current versions of both icecast2 and oddcast (http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2 for that) * you are using the most current oddcast, but have <icylogin>1</icylogin> in your icecast2

OT: compiling oddcast DSP
Hi, There's a rather serious problem with the Oddcast DSP for Winamp, when you stream in vorbis format over icecast2, it drops ~ 1/2 sec of near the beginning of every song except the first. I tracked this down, it turns out oddcast drops the last vorbis page of every stream. (The DSP doesn't receive the new metadata until after the song has been playing for a second or two, which is
