php script for listener count and www admin interface password
i am looking for a simple php script or anything really that will allow
me to display a listener count on a simple web page. "5 users currently
connected" sort of thing. i have scoured the web with no luck. i would
even settle for a shell script that would pull the number out of the
icecast.conf file. i don't care how it happens as long as it isn't a
windows program.
it has

that's right. i can make those fine. i have no problem connecting to
the admin interface through a shell, or using the encoder password or
anything. that's not the problem. the problem is that when i go to
http://server.com:8000/admin?mode=sources
in a web browser a dialog box comes up that says

php script for listener count and www admin interface password
i will try that. about the acl_policy thing:
this controls access but nowhere does it specify an HTTP username or
password for accessing the WWW admin interface. i am NOT getting the
usual "403 Forbidden You don't have access to this entity (stream or
file). Please go away" error-- i can actually see the admin interface
but certain pages bring up an HTTP authentication dialog.

Run the signal through a Compressor/Limiter before sending it to your
soundcard. I use Behringer Ultra-Dyne Pro DSP9024. Very nice. If you
want to buy it look here:

automatic gain control
>Fromwhat you describe, your comp/limiter can't possibly be working
correctly. It should be the last unit in line before the sound card, and
needs to be adjusted properly. You also need to balance the levels on your
mixing board (so that the correc t level comes at predictable place on the
slider). It might be worthwhile to find someone with some sound-mixing or
radio engineering experience

graceful session expiry?
According to the Rails book, the session object has an attribute called
:session_expires, but they don''t encourage its use. Currently I handle
session expiry by using a cron job to delete session files that have not
been modified in the last X minutes (it is a design/security requirement
for this project that sessions expire after a finite period of
inactivity).
However, this is a

commenting out a block of R code
Dear friends,
Is there an easy way of commenting out a block of R code after it has
been written? (I am aware that R-aware editors can insert #
line-by-line while it is being written, but I want to basically block
out chunks of R code in a few strokes.)
This question was asked on this mailing list some time ago: Professor
Ripley's answer was to try the following:

try creating a table for your model
Railers:
Greetings from the low end of the learning curve. I have installed all
the prerequisites on Win32, including a lite MySQL database with a
table in it called Inventory.
Then I run this command line...
ruby script/generate ajax_scaffold Inventory
...and I get this error message:

Great to see people engaging with the ALTREP framework and identifying
places we may need more tooling. Comments inline.

Memory leak in winbindd
I'm running Samba 2.2.3a on NetBSD. I've been having an annoying
problem with winbindd dying inexplicably. I finally found a test that
seems to (eventually) kill it:
while wbinfo -t > /dev/null; do /usr/bin/true; done
The problem is a memory leak in winbindd. Actually, wbinfo -t will
still work, but wbinfo -u doesn't (response.extra_data is always null).
Is this a known

Upgrade from Hell
For those of you running SuSE 9.1, I do not recommend upgrading to 9.2
at this time.
Refer to http://shorewall.net/myfiles.htm for information on my
configuration:
a) On Ursa:
1) After the upgrade, both of the NICs were recognized as "configured"
in YAST yet neither of them would start; ifup claimed that no
configuration could be found for either interface. Only got them running

IAX2 dropping call?
Hello all,
I updated from CVS 3 days ago and now my IAX2 gateway is dropping
calls without warning.
It happens right in the middle of a conversation with no pattern. I
never had this
Problem before and am usually talking 2-3 hours a day.
Is their a bug? Should I rollback?
Cheers,
Paul Seniuk
