Ices problems : Skipped corrupt file
Hi, yes, it has. I ckecked out all the stuff from xiph.org and rebuild everything for ices 2. Now, it works. Except that there are a bug in ices/src/input.c, at the end: free(control); control is not a dynamically allocated variable, so it crashed ices. (it is the address of a global variable). This appends when you are in managed mode and you set the bitrates to values under 30000. I

Problems streaming Ogg Vorbis with icecast2+ices
Hello, Perhaps it is a typical question but i've got stuck. I'm using icecast2+ices to stream some ogg vorbis files or voice_in_life (/dev/dsp) over the network/internet. All seems to work fine, for example using: ogg123 http://127.0.0.1:8000/mount works :). And: ogg123 http://my_internet_ip:8000/mount works too from another pc over internet and far away :). Using mplayer works fine

Stream with Ices2 sound very metallic
I'm not sure this it the problem, because whatever the encoding if (managed or not), the problem is there. To listen to the problem: http://www.stalig.com/radio_ices.ogg The ices stream in a file (a few seconds) http://www.stalig.com/radiofree.ogg The darkice stream in a file (a few seconds) Looking at the content of the ogg files, we can see there are using the same vorbis lib even if i

ices - unable to compile
Hi, I'm the newbiest of newbies but recently converted over to linux from WinNT...woohoo! All is going well EXCEPT for replacing my Shoutcast server. I'm able to compile icecast but am unable to compile ices due to some missing libraries? Can someone send me to a BEGINNER "HOW TO" that would describe the steps for compiling and installing ices on my Mandrake 8.2 server? I

ices - unable to compile
thanks Geoff. I was going to spare everyone the details and continue my search but I sincerely appreciate the help. Here's the output from 'configure', 'make', and 'make install', as best I could capture it. I'm not editing any of the make files or using any flags. This is the latest version if ices that is on icecast.org. It appears that libshout came with the

Using ices or shout with continuously growing files?
Hi people, I'm using an external mp3pro encoder that creates a contuously growing file from a live input. However, ices and shout read the file size, and stop when that value is reached, then they start playing the file over again. What I want is that it keeps playing the file, as it should be able to keep playing until eternity :) I've copied the output of shout beneath. Is there

Ices 3.0 compile issues
Hi, Actually I'm using icecast 1.3.12 libshout2 (.so.3) and ices 0.2.3, all compiled on the same machine and it's working well. But I can't compile ices 3.0. It's telling various errors like In file included from ../../src/definitions.h:99, from playlist.c:22: ../../src/icestypes.h:38: parse error before "shout_t" Or ../../src/ices_config.h:22: parse

Multiple streams for different quality settings ?
Hi, I would like to send 3 streams to my server, three times exactly the same audio but with different quality setting to get a low, medium and high quality stream. I've got icecast2 setup on a debian server and I'm streaming ogg with oddcast from winamp, everything's working just fine. Is there another win32 package to get this done ? We are going to do live audio in the end so we

Howto stream using icecast/ices bit rate peeled ogg files
Thanks. Do you or any one have an idea about when the functionality (ices) will be implemented? Thanks for any information! The icecast mount stuff I would have thought would be pretty self-explanatory in the config file. They're used to do stuff that's an exception to the general stuff defined above.. As for the ices

Any reliable command line clients?
Is anyone using icecast and a client in any sort of reliable setting, such as a backup studio to transmitter link for a radio station? Something the requires reliability and good audio quality? What client are you using? I ask because I haven't found any good clients that meet my needs. Here are my requirements: 1. It should run in linux, for security and stability. 2. It should be

Problem with streaming some mp3s (but not all)
Hi! I would really appreciate if someone could try to help me out with this... i've been struggling with it for quite a while now. :( Anyway, I was trying to use ices to broadcast mp3s with icecast2 (a recent cvs snapshot of all 3 components from brendan's site). I have it working fine for some of my mp3s (encoded with lame -b 32) but with the other mp3s which are actually the ones that
