ices 'script' playlist information?
Doesn't ices only read the first line returned from the script? --thanks Michael Edwards http://www.walledcity.ca/mars/ >===== Original Message From Karl Heyes <karl at pts.tele2.co.uk> ===== >On Sat, 2003-03-01 at 18:41, Adam Scriven wrote: > >> Is there anywhere I can go to get detailed information on how this works? >> I'm wondering about passing information

ices 'script' playlist information?
Ok, I've got one more question. I've got my stream largly working... I don't have any of the external, web-based stuff necessary to build lists, ETC... but the streams themselves are working quite well. My question is, using the script playlist option.. how can I tell ices that the playlist is over? I know I can just keep sending the same result over and over, but that seems rather

ices 'script' playlist information?
Hey all. I've got my streams running, they're working quite awesome so far. But I've got a question about automation, and the ices2 "script" playlist option. Is there anywhere I can go to get detailed information on how this works? I'm wondering about passing information back and forth, for example, or if there's anyway to collect information like the audio program

ices spawning zombie perl processes
I have ices currently calling a Perl script to generate the next song to be played. However, either the perl script is incorrectly written and is not exitting properly, or ices is not letting it know that it can close the process in the table. Does anyone have any advice on distinguishing between the two cases, and how to fix the issue? --thanks Michael Edwards http://www.walledcity.ca

Ices Spawing Zombie Perl Scripts - Again
So, I finally had some time to go through my scripts and after some poking and fixing I discovered that there is nothing wrong with my Perl script. It may be ugly and inefficient but it gets the job done and closes without throwing errors when run thru perl outside of ices. However, ices continues to produce the defunct processes, a listing of ices and icecast2 related material from ps is

Adding more to stats.xml WAS:Source XML for status.xsl
/me grumbles about upcoming finals: I note that the mountpoint entry displays the current songs title and artist, but not the album. In the particular case of my station, album is often more important (recognizable) as there are a variety of pop/classical artists who do music for anime. So I'd like to add an album nature but am going to need a quick overview on how stats.xml is generated.

Source XML for status.xsl
I've been trying to track down this mysterious 'icestats' file that the status.xsl and status2.xsl read data from. There is no physical file as far as I can tell, but a perusal of the code seems to indicate that the server generates it on the fly when the XSL file requests it. So then I tried servername.com:8000/icestats but I got nothing. So I really got nothing, I would prefer

imap-login ESTABLISHED client sessions not timed out by server
Good morning everyone, I noticed some mobile client connections that I know should have timed out at least 20 mins ago, yet these are still there. The device in question lost its 3G connection and never re-established it. I know, because in this case it was my 'phone ;) Why should the imap-login keep the copnnection in in EST, when it was dropped ages ago. I imagine that the mobile

Directory Listings
That's a little odd, there are streams listed at yp.icecast.org... What's up with that? And of course my question on other directory servers still stands. --thanks Michael Edwards http://www.walledcity.ca >===== Original Message From Manuel Lora <vanguardist@cox.net> ===== >Icecast.org no longer hosts the yp directory. > >ml > > >On Saturday 05 April 2003

Logon script based on group
Hi there Is it possible to have a logon script that checks which groups the users are a part of and then runs a logon script based on that? I've tried %G.bat but it doesn't work, %U.bat works though, but that's not what I want Thanks in advance Roy ------------------------------------------------- WebMail fra Tele2 http://www.tele2.no

Sending ice-public: 1
According to the oddcast website ices by default sends ice-public: 0 when informing directories of itself. IceS 2.0a - Extended sleep requested
Thanks for offering to help, Karl. Config - I thought my email was long even without the config files so I didn't include them! They are normal random playlist configs. What aspects are you looking for? CPU - vmstat 1 gives consistant CPU readings of around 2,1,97 for us,sy,id respectively when no one is listening to the streams. There's hardly any change when a client starts listening.

And on a related note, what other directorys can I list the server on? --thanks Michael Edwards http://www.walledcity.ca <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage:
