Icecast2 Configuration
I think I figured everything out on my own, BUT it gives me this error each time I attempt to play a stream (using WinAmp's oddcast plugin). I have made sure multiple times that the passwords in the Icecast config file & oddcast config box are both the same! Icecast2 Configuration
I've used SHOUTcast before, but I'm new to IceCast... and it's been a bit since I did use SHOUTcast. I need to know what the various configuration fields in Icecast2 Win32 do. Icecast2 Configuration
If you are getting "login with invalid or missing password" it means one of a few things : * you have not selected Icecast2 as the server type in the DSP config * you are not using the most current versions of both icecast2 and oddcast (http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2 for that) * you are using the most current oddcast, but have <icylogin>1</icylogin> in your icecast2

Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
Hi there! I'm new to the list and I'm experiencing somekind of problem. I have installed icecast 1.3.12 as a OpenBSD 3.2 port. I use winamp (on win2000) for encoding with muchFX and 4 oddcast DSP plugins for different streams. Streams are mounted in /low /medium /high /vh mount points. From icecast logfiles it seems that everything is working ok. When I try to connect with a client

Server Requirements
Hi, I'm looking to stream a large amount of conncurrent connects and want to use icecast probably on a CentOS base. The bandwidth requirements are over 60 Mbps before any overheads, I'm looking at using some Dell SC1425 machines but am not sure how many I'd need, I'd appreciated hearing your experiences and suggestions. I need to be able to stream the following simultaneous

Suggestion: The ability to limit the number of ICY connections
Hi all: I'm looking at some of the features in SVN Icecast, particularly the ability to reclaim fallbacks. This feature would be very useful for a project I work with, and could see us switching to icecast from Shoutcast compatible technology. One problem arises, however. Some of our broadcasters use the legacy Shoutcast DSP plugin, which can only perform ICY-style connects. My problem

legalities of streaming
Basically, to legally broadcast music you must: A) Obtain permissions from the copyright holder (usually the publisher, record label) of the *composition*. ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC offer compulsory licenses for all of the artists they represent, fees based upon roughly how many listeners your station has & how many songs in your broadcast are by artists/composers they represent. B) Obtain

Icecast2 / Ogg / oddcastDSP / Winamp2 Constant Prebuffering
Hrm, yes it does sound like a bug in WinAmp. Even if it does prebuffer, the length counter should be going beyond 0:01 since you've obviously been listening longer than that after the first second. =P (I don't think the counter resets after buffering, but I could be wrong.) Can you see if you can duplicate it by getting someone else to tune in to the 'cast with WinAmp?

Can't support more than one listener
I'm running Icecast 3.2.1 on Windows 7 on my new computer and I've tried streaming with oddcast as well as shoutcast, but for some reason only one listener at a time can hear the stream. I'm running Icecast 2.3.1 on Windows XP on my old computer streaming with oddcast, and it supports multiple listeners just fine. Can anyone think of what is wrong with Icecast on my new computer?

Multiple streams for different quality settings ?
Hi, I would like to send 3 streams to my server, three times exactly the same audio but with different quality setting to get a low, medium and high quality stream. I've got icecast2 setup on a debian server and I'm streaming ogg with oddcast from winamp, everything's working just fine. Is there another win32 package to get this done ? We are going to do live audio in the end so we

skipping at change of song
I think this may be an oddcast issue but I'm not sure. I've been streaming for a few days now and I've noticed when listening to the stream that at the change of every song the stream skips ahead slightly. It appears to occur when the metadata for the song title etc is being sent. For me this is a few seconds before the actual change of track since I'm using the SQRSoft

There's three considerations. 1. This project has around fifty broadcasters. It has been running for 3.5 years, and whilst some have moved to using plugins like SAM which (presumably) does

Hi: Just to add that most, if not all, that ices does can already be done using other Windows tools. You can stream a playlist unencoded with Ezstream. You can stream raw soundcard input with streamTranscoder. And you can do all that and more with the various Oddcast plugins. Wont Stream
Hello, I have just setup an Icecast server on a FreeBSD box. Everything was setup fine, and the server runs fine. It will accept shoutcast connections and stream them fine - so there is no problem with that. The problem is streaming Icecast. I am using the OGGDSP plugin for Winamp 3 and when I connect it - it will look as though everything is connected but there is no lights flashing on my

MIC input on win98
apparently an older version of Oddsocks' Oddcast could do mic input. You could also try finding one of the many line input plugins for winamp, and find one that can send data to the DSP plugin- that might do the job. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ajb" <ajb@jireh.co.uk> To: <icecast@xiph.org> Sent: Friday, January 10, 2003 5:24 PM Subject: [icecast] MIC input on

YP submission / cURL issue. (icecast 2.0.1 / gentoo)
I've yet to assemble a valid crash-procedure to consistently re-produce the issue. AFAIK, whats causing it is possibly CPU-utilization issues with my chaining of processing/DSP, what do y'all think?! -- My encoder setup: Winamp `[DSP] -> SoundSolution (dynamic sonic enhancement) `[Output] -> SqrSoft Crossfading (only ''REAL'' crossfader) `[SqrSoft DSP
