icecast2 and static files
If you check this unofficial howto at http://quasi.ksl.com/icecast/ then you will find an example xml config file for ices which allows you to server static music files. However, you will need to remove the 'encoding' section of the file as on my system it would reencode on the fly as long as that section existed. --thanks Michael Edwards http://www.walledcity.ca >===== Original

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Hey All. I have recently upgraded my streaming radio station to icecast2 type streaming. I, however miss the stats logs in icecast 1. These logs would list the number of listeners, and more importantly their ip addresses. I parsed this onto a nice looking web page, so local users in my LAN could know who was listening to the radio station. I guess icecast2 has some built in web serving

Re [ogg]
Hi: If you're just wanting to serve static files then the fileserve function of icecast will probably serve you better. But yes, you would have to make a thousand files. Probably better to write some kind of script to push a .m3u or .pls file generated from the filename passed as a parameter. At least then you wouldn't have lots of tiny m3u files all over the place. Icecast 2 recieving valid login from two sources
What happens when the Icecast 2 server already has a source connected & broadcasting, and another source attempts to login also with valid login info? Is the second source not accepted, or does the second source override the already connected source? --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list,
