now)... I'm having a problem with icecast and my windows real audio
player. this may very well be a real issue, but for now i thought someone
here might have run across this problem. so here it is:
when i point my real player to the icy mount point, for example

OT: Latest Linux Real player
Hello. Does the latest Linux real player support RealAudio 10? The RealVideo
codec is available as a upgrade but does it include RealAudio10. As far as I
know TRPlayer uses the installed Real libraries so it should work if
RealPlayer supports it.
Also would you mind sending me your compile of TRPlayer? I had some problems
compiling it under Redhat 9.

Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
>Using stream transcoder (also an oddsock tool) instead of multiple instances
of oddcast DSP might help.
Hmm, there is another problem. From this transcoder I can't choose my input device. I have 2 sound cards. First one is making an mp3 archive from audio source and the other one is/will be used for broadcasting.

LADSPA stands for Linux Audio Developer's Simple Plugin API (see
http://www.ladspa.org/). Basically, it was pointed out on the linux audio
dev (LAD) mailing list that numerous programs were using plugin
architectures and all were different. So they fleshed out a plugin API
and the rest, as they say,

OT: Latest Linux Real player
Hi:
I know this is off-topic, but figured someone here would know, particularly
given Xiph's involvement in Helix.
Up till now I've used TRplayer <http://linux-speakup.org/trplayer.html> to
play Realmedia content. This is because, as a Blind person, I've no need
or desire for X11, and TRplayer uses the Realplayer libs without all that X
overhead. but now I would like to play

24k, 56k, and 96k, is it possible?
Hi:
The reason 24kbps sounds bad is in part due to the fact that LAME has
annoying defaults for that rate. Using mono, it defaults to 16khz. Stereo
it defaults to 8khz. It can cope with 22.05khz and 11.025 khz respectively
just fine at those rates. I've not used liveice, but if it's possible to
specify the --resample command line option with either 22050 or 11025 as
its argument

Streaming radio docs
Hi:
If you're wanting to stream in MP3 using icecast 1.x, ices 0.2.3 won't do
what you want. It doesn't have soundcard input. I use darkice for this,
others use liveice (which I never got to work) and one or two other
solutions.
If you want to use Ogg Vorbis and icecast2, ices2 will work just fine. See

Metadata
ok - I'm now starting a new bitstream on each song change, but still no-go.
Only on the very first reconnect does the title streaming show correct.
The metadata information however NEVER displays correctly in the stats.xml -
even though the comment headers seem to be fine - so I suspect I need to use
another method?
btw - Metdata inside OddCast DSP seems to work fine...

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Here is a php script that parses out the stats.xml file from the admin of
the icecast2 server.
It currently only parses the page out to variables and still needs a bit of
work.
anyways here is the php source files

Streamer / scheduler - play file at predifined time?
thanks, this works but its almost impossible to make all my programs
to add up to an hour exactly so at some stage I would need to kill
the a song half way through just before the news at the top of the
hour. Any ideas on how to do this ??/

IceCast 2.2 MP3 stream and Real Player noise
Just checked using RealPlayer Windows 10.5 latest release.
This also glitches.
This is more than likely due to the differences in metadata between
SHOUTcast and Icecast2.
This is exactly the reason I was asking for the exact differences between
the protocols so I can help get these things fixed with the player folks.
Real is not the only player with this problem.
I may be in the AAC/aacPlus camp,

Real Player and Icecast 2
Mm, it's weird because it works fine for me... I tried RealPlayer V10.0 (the
new RealOne beta) and RealOne V2.0 with several mp3 stations listed in the
stream directory and everything worked fine for me: both the stream and the
metadata.
