Trouble Connecting with Winamp
Hi all,
I built the latest Win32 version of Icecast last night (need I say why its so cool?). I am using it with OddcastDSP and it connects and streams to Icecast just fine. However, when I try and connect to the server I get an HTTP/1.0 404 error. The log shows this:
127.0.0.1 - - [21/Feb/2003:19:51:08 Eastern Standard Time] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 404 109 "(null)" "-"

Adding more to stats.xml WAS:Source XML for status.xsl
/me grumbles about upcoming finals:
I note that the mountpoint entry displays the current songs title and artist,
but not the album. In the particular case of my station, album is often more
important (recognizable) as there are a variety of pop/classical artists who
do music for anime. So I'd like to add an album nature but am going to need a
quick overview on how stats.xml is generated.

Source XML for status.xsl
I've been trying to track down this mysterious 'icestats' file that the
status.xsl and status2.xsl read data from. There is no physical file as far as
I can tell, but a perusal of the code seems to indicate that the server
generates it on the fly when the XSL file requests it. So then I tried
servername.com:8000/icestats but I got nothing.
So I really got nothing, I would prefer

Directory Listings
That's a little odd, there are streams listed at yp.icecast.org...
What's up with that?
And of course my question on other directory servers still stands.

icecast2 and static files
If you check this unofficial howto at http://quasi.ksl.com/icecast/ then you
will find an example xml config file for ices which allows you to server
static music files. However, you will need to remove the 'encoding' section of
the file as on my system it would reencode on the fly as long as that section
existed.

ices spawning zombie perl processes
I have ices currently calling a Perl script to generate the next song to be
played. However, either the perl script is incorrectly written and is not
exitting properly, or ices is not letting it know that it can close the
process in the table. Does anyone have any advice on distinguishing between
the two cases, and how to fix the issue?

iTunes 4
Last I checked, iTunes was unable to play my static playlist ogg vorbis
stream. Assuming this is expected behaviour and not an anomaly; Does iTunes 4
resolve this issue?

ices 'script' playlist information?
I can heartily garuntee that if your script doesn't return anything ices will
whine about only getting newlines and promptly terminate. For you this is
desired behaviour. For me it was undesired.. god it took me awhile to work the
kinks out of that script...

yp dir listing
I've recently switched from Oddcast to ices2 under Linux, as my pro sound
card unfortunately didn't work well under windows.
Is there a problem with ices2 updating the yp dir, as my stream is not
listing anymore - it seems that for some reason ices2 doesn't have the
metadata code to list like oddcast does?
Any ideas if this is a problem with my xml config in ices or a limitation

Ices Spawing Zombie Perl Scripts - Again
So, I finally had some time to go through my scripts and after some poking and
fixing I discovered that there is nothing wrong with my Perl script. It may be
ugly and inefficient but it gets the job done and closes without throwing
errors when run thru perl outside of ices.
However, ices continues to produce the defunct processes, a listing of ices
and icecast2 related material from ps is

Ice Cast / win32 basic help
Do you have a source, like Oddcast, to generate the stream & send it over to
Icecast for broadcast?

Bizarre (and irritating) ices2 error
I get this error every time I try to start ices:
ices: relocation error: ices: undefined symbol: resolver_initialize
I'm running a Celeron with 64MB of RAM which up until last moth, ran ices with
absolutely no complaint.
Here are the steps I've taken to resolve this problem:
Full update from debian/unstable
-no effect
Full reinstall of all dependencies using CVS checkouts
-ices fails

Where should I look for an example of how to connect to Icecast from Java?
(I have a MySQL/Tomcat application with MP3's in the DB and need to stream
them using Java and Icecast.)

ICE
Hello,
I have an Asterisk server with a public IP address and a bunch of clients.
Most of my clients are behind NATs (sometimes two clients are behind the
same NAT i.e in the same private network). I want to use ICE so that the
clients behind the same NAT can send RTP traffic directly to each other and
other clients use Asterisk or a TURN server. I tested a specific scenario
using two Linphone 3.7

Doc for PJSIP ICE support ?
Hello,
Where can I find doc about PJSIP's ice_support parameter ?
Do you need to configure things elsewhere in Asterisk config files
(rtp.conf, PJSIP transport sections, ...) to make ICE work properly ?
I'm asking because, if I'm not mistaken, STUN requires setting a STUN
server so I think ICE most probably, should also require settings some
public resources.
