Where is this WiMP plugin that supports Icecast2 Vorbis streams? I would be very much interested in that. And where also is the Real plugin?

mac wine gamepad issues
I finally found a way to run epsxe on mac os without virtualization! Hurray! For that I would like to thank the Wine development team. Now onto my question. I cannot get epsxe to recognize my gamepad, yet it will let me assign keys on the keyboard. Any ideas?

streaming ogg from WinAmp
Hi list, I was just wondering if there was a way to stream using ogg format from WinAmp. I could always take the output from WinAmp and feed it in to the sound card on my Linux box and use the live streaming option of ices, but that sounds a bit messy. Also what is a recommended quality to stream ogg at so that modem listeners can pick it up with out many skips. I found that 32k was fine in

Selection of cities sample
Hi, I have a question, how to most properly select set of cities which would be as similar as possible in some particular variables with the City of Boston (which I use as my base line). I thought about ordering cities by sum of ((differences between value of that particular variable for that particular city and the value of same variable for Boston) divided by the standard deviation of the

problems using samba as PDC
Hi list, We are in the process of replacing our current Windows 2k file server with a Debian Linux one running Samba. I am running Samba 2.999+3.0.Alpha21 which is packaged for Debian in the Unstable tree. I believe I have configured everything correctly however when I login from a Windows client it is creating the users profile under there home directory rather than in the profile directory

OpenSSH-3.1p1 Solaris build with /dev/random
has anyone had a problem building 3.1p1 with Solaris 8 (2/02 release)? That release of Solaris was the first (I believe) to incorporate their own /dev/random which OpenSSH 3.1 doesn't seem to like too much. When I run the configure, it reports that Random Number Source is set to use the rand-helper. If I use the ANDIrand Solaris package as my /dev/random, It configures properly (Random

scp and Solaris ACLs
Has anyone had a problem with scp not retaining ACLs set on the original file under Solaris 8? When I have a file that has ACLs set and I use scp or rsync -e ssh to copy the file (local->local or local->remote) the ACLs are gone from the copied file(s). Is this a known issue or am I just missing something (a flag for instance) when performing the copy? Thanks in advance for your help.

playlist script
Hi, I am looking for a script for icecast that will generate playlists with a few requirements. For example, our station broadcasts 3 styles of techno, and it sounds wierd when you drop a more mello trance style track in the middle of a hard house style set. so I need to be able to say, play 7 songs of type 1 then 7 songs of type 2 etc. Also some songs should get a higher frequency in the

X-Content-Duration HTTP header
Hi ppl, we've been using a header called X-Content-Duration on some applications to communicate between a client and a server about the duration of a video (or audio) file. I've just been told by some W3C people that we should not name HTTP headers (even if intermediate) with "X-". (see email thread excerpt below) Should we move forward and register a provisional header as

OpenSSH and Solaris groups
I have an odd problem and I was wondering if anyone has ever run into this before. I have a machine running solaris 8, OpenSSH 3.1p1 and OpenSSL 0.9.6c and it has been working fine for quite some time (ssh that is). Today, /etc/system was updated to increase the maximum number of groups from 16 to 32. After the system was rebooted, things seemed to be working as expected, however one of our
