Fading between songs
Hi: To do fading, you'll need to use a source that will: 1. Decode your songs 2. Do the necessary crossfading 3. Re-encode the stream and send it to icecast. right now, I know of no streamer that will do this. I'm aware of a very comprehensive package under development, but there's no public access to it yet that I know of. Note that there are strong feelings on both sides as

Problem with streaming some mp3s (but not all)
Hi! I would really appreciate if someone could try to help me out with this... i've been struggling with it for quite a while now. :( Anyway, I was trying to use ices to broadcast mp3s with icecast2 (a recent cvs snapshot of all 3 components from brendan's site). I have it working fine for some of my mp3s (encoded with lame -b 32) but with the other mp3s which are actually the ones that

Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
Hi there! I'm new to the list and I'm experiencing somekind of problem. I have installed icecast 1.3.12 as a OpenBSD 3.2 port. I use winamp (on win2000) for encoding with muchFX and 4 oddcast DSP plugins for different streams. Streams are mounted in /low /medium /high /vh mount points. From icecast logfiles it seems that everything is working ok. When I try to connect with a client

Re [ogg]
Hi: If you're just wanting to serve static files then the fileserve function of icecast will probably serve you better. But yes, you would have to make a thousand files. Probably better to write some kind of script to push a .m3u or .pls file generated from the filename passed as a parameter. At least then you wouldn't have lots of tiny m3u files all over the place. Geoff. <p>

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Hey All. I have recently upgraded my streaming radio station to icecast2 type streaming. I, however miss the stats logs in icecast 1. These logs would list the number of listeners, and more importantly their ip addresses. I parsed this onto a nice looking web page, so local users in my LAN could know who was listening to the radio station. I guess icecast2 has some built in web serving

Problems with WinAMP and Synchronization
Hi all! I have some problems with Icecast, WinAMP and multiple mountpoints. If i have several streams on several mountpoints then WinAMP can only access the first stream, and it ignores the mountpoint in its "URL location" - i.e. when i'm running the streams "test1", "test2" and "test3" and i open http://localhost:8000/test3 in WinAMP then it will

Metadata
Hi! Been trying to figure out how to stream metadata. I got metadata streaming working for MP3, but just cant seem to make it work for Ogg? This is how I *think* it works - please correct me where I'm wrong: 1. For MP3 the metadata is updated via a HTTP GET (aka Old shoutcast method, just new URL /admin/) 2. For Ogg the metadata is embedded directly into the stream using a comment packet? I
