Icecast2 Configuration
If you are getting "login with invalid or missing password" it means one of
a few things :
* you have not selected Icecast2 as the server type in the DSP config
* you are not using the most current versions of both icecast2 and oddcast
(http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2 for that)
* you are using the most current oddcast, but have <icylogin>1</icylogin>

Icecast2 Configuration
I think I figured everything out on my own, BUT it gives me this error each
time I attempt to play a stream (using WinAmp's oddcast plugin). I have made
sure multiple times that the passwords in the Icecast config file & oddcast
config box are both the same!

I've used SHOUTcast before, but I'm new to IceCast... and it's been a bit
since I did use SHOUTcast.
I need to know what the various configuration fields in Icecast2 Win32 do.

configuration & error help
Hi everybody, just a new face showing up looking for a little help
configuring IceCast.
Just installed the software with a few other programs in an attempt to
start off my own internet radio station.
Using SimpleCast to take the line-in and stream it to IceCast, which
in-turn does the obvious and streams it to the internet.
I'm looking at just creating a station of just 5 max users (for

ices stops connecting to server after 24hours
Hi Karl,
I just tried the latest - same problem :(
One of the lines in the log file seems interesting - see the (Out of memory)
error.. After that appears it seems to never want to connect after that.
My box has plenty of memory - ices seems to only use 30 megs of memory and
around 29% cpu. Memory leak maybe?

ices stops connecting to server after 24hours
G'day Karl,
I've been using your multiple instance version ices-2.0-kh43 for live
streaming from my soundcard.
After about 24 hours, connection to my icecast server is lost - checking
my netstat I see that the connection is in "CLOSE_WAIT" status - this seems to
stop it from being able to reconnect. Here is some sample ices.log
output:

vobris icecast 2
hi,
I am trying to get Vorbis streaming from live input to a icecast2 (win32)
server. I am doing this on my local 192.168.22.x network.
I can get oddcastDSP encoder to stream to the icecast server. It makes a
source connection and I can see this is the Icecast2 Win32 Server Stats
window. I can also see the KB sent in the oddcastDSP window.
However I have the following problems:
1. I cant make a

Thats a damn good idea, client connects, player sends request, server
responds to dsp encoder says hey i need a stream, dsp says ACK ill send ya a
stream.

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Here is a php script that parses out the stats.xml file from the admin of
the icecast2 server.
It currently only parses the page out to variables and still needs a bit of
work.
anyways here is the php source files

Icecast2 / Ogg / oddcastDSP / Winamp2 Constant Prebuffering
Hrm, yes it does sound like a bug in WinAmp. Even if it does prebuffer, the
length counter should be going beyond 0:01 since you've obviously been
listening longer than that after the first second. =P (I don't think the
counter resets after buffering, but I could be wrong.)
Can you see if you can duplicate it by getting someone else to tune in to the
'cast with WinAmp?
