Always starts playing at the beginning of a stream
Is there a way to force a client to always start playing at the beginning of a stream? Currently, the client starts from wherever ices is playing at, unfortunately, this is not ideal for my situation. Thanks in advance. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to

streaming MP3s?
Ok, icecast is up and running, but only ogg-files. Any way to stream MP3s? I got my whole CD-Collection as MP3s and am just to lazy to convert the whole stuff. <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the word

possible solution...?
Uaaargh ... between now and the last mail, everything's gone kaploohey. But I doubt that it concerns icecast too much in this case - the streaming computer has a cpu load of 90-100% for no reason (it's an athlon 1ghz with only winamp and ssh and the system monitor running under win98). The playback on the streaming computer sounds good, though, but what reaches the client side is no more

Icecast is cool, but how about video?

There don't even exist any players for it except from Real ... i can't think of anything less free than that. :| I suggest ditching all that crap and to

Re-2: streaming MP3s?
I'm using icecast-2.0-alpha-2 and ices-2.0-Beta2. When I put the .mp3 file in my webroot and start laying it via winamp/location/<filename>.mp3 it works fine, just when I try using the playlist via ices I get a 404. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [icecast] streaming MP3s? David Hughes wrote: > Sorry to ask, but where can I find icecast2 and vorbis? Vorbis releases are to be found on www.vorbis.com - to get Icecast2, check out the module "icecast" from cvs.xiph.org. www.xiph.org/cvs.html has the necessary instructions. Latest/Greatest versions of all Xiph stuff can be found there, too. <p>Moritz --- >8 ---- List archives:

issue with fileserve in KH branch
Hello together after trying to deploy one of the latest version out of the KH branch to our servers we ran into an issue with streaming of ondemand files. After deploying 2.3.2-kh27.1 and also trying 2.3.2-kh24 and 2.3.2-kh22 we see that if we try to stream an ondemand file through the fileserv option we get the ondemand file play back correctly and also see the appropriate file length in

Re [ogg]
I guess as a mercy plee for help I'll mention why I need to have the static ogg files play as the mp3 static files play with icecast1. I'm the founder of the LPBN and I've recently made Richard Stallman's files available as downloads (it is a work that is still in process). Stallman has requested I make them available as streams as well as downloads. So is there anybody out

Icecast2 access problem
I seem to be having problems with people accessing an icecast stream from one of my computers. I am using the current cvs of icecast2 (icecast module), libshout2 (libshout module), and ices2 (ices module) and the RC2 version of the ogg and vorbis libraries. I connect to the internet via DSL and have the DSL modem attached to a Linksys router. The router is configured to forward all port 8000

music on hold that starts at beginning of file
Hi, I'd like to have asterisk play a sound file while a caller is waiting to be connected to an extension. I tried using music on hold, but that seems to run in a loop, not playing from the beginning for each caller. Are there any other options? It doesn't have to be an MP3 file. I tried sending a background() command before the dial(), but that doesn't appear to work.

Playing a file before live stream
Hi, My sincere apologies if this topic has appeared on the mailing list before, (as I'm sure it probably has) but the xiph.org archive function is still broken so I can't search. At any rate, I'd like to know if it is possible, using Icecast2, to play a short .mp3 or .ogg file before a live stream is delivered. I'm not sure how to do this, or if it is even possible. Any help is
