Re [ogg]
Hi: If you're just wanting to serve static files then the fileserve function of icecast will probably serve you better. But yes, you would have to make a thousand files. Probably better to write some kind of script to push a .m3u or .pls file generated from the filename passed as a parameter. At least then you wouldn't have lots of tiny m3u files all over the place. command line .ogg streamer
I'm terribly sorry if this is off-topic, but I've scoured the web for hours looking for a working .ogg file streamer. I have thousands of ogg files, and I want to be able to set up a playlist, enabling any computer on the network to listen to the stream. Sure, I did it with icecast and liveice when I was using mp3's but now icecast doesn't come with liveice, (I found the source,

Problems streaming just one file, yet /default works fine.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, We are needing to use icecast to stream a single mp3 _from_the_beginning_ of the file. Using Icecast and Shout, everything works fine, the problem with that is that when you conenct to /default you start listening at whatever point shout is currently playing at. This is not satisfactory at all, the stream must start at the beginning of the

Ices 3.0 compile issues
Hi, Actually I'm using icecast 1.3.12 libshout2 (.so.3) and ices 0.2.3, all compiled on the same machine and it's working well. But I can't compile ices 3.0. It's telling various errors like In file included from ../../src/definitions.h:99, from playlist.c:22: ../../src/icestypes.h:38: parse error before "shout_t" Or ../../src/ices_config.h:22: parse

Icecast not streaming from playlist. (Newbie)
Hi all, I'm new to the streaming audio thing, but have been a linux user for 7 or 8 years. Here's some background: I work in a really EMI-nasty environment that prevents receiving radio broadcasts. In order to listen to sporting events, local news, etc. I planned to set up icecast to stream live audio snatched from a radio at home, and listen to it at work. I installed icecast,

Does somebody has an idea about to solve that ? Thanks, Chris --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this

Using ices or shout with continuously growing files?
Hi people, I'm using an external mp3pro encoder that creates a contuously growing file from a live input. However, ices and shout read the file size, and stop when that value is reached, then they start playing the file over again. What I want is that it keeps playing the file, as it should be able to keep playing until eternity :) I've copied the output of shout beneath. Is there

Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
Hi there! I'm new to the list and I'm experiencing somekind of problem. I have installed icecast 1.3.12 as a OpenBSD 3.2 port. I use winamp (on win2000) for encoding with muchFX and 4 oddcast DSP plugins for different streams. Streams are mounted in /low /medium /high /vh mount points. From icecast logfiles it seems that everything is working ok. When I try to connect with a client
