Rsync and trying to mirror Linux user areas
As root, I am trying to mirror a Redhat 7.3 Linux user area
onto another Redhat 7.3 Linux box using rsync. This is using
the following type of command:
rsync -a -v --stats --safe-links
However, rsync cannot mirror most of the user area because
of the default permissions for the user areas.
e.g.,
opendir(user1): Permission denied
opendir(user2): Permission denied
drwx------ 3 user1

Problems creating or renaming directories and files in gluster volume, via SAMBA
Hello all,
We have a distributed volume running in 7 hosts and 28 bricks.
We've been experiencing some strange behaviors over the time, some of them are solved when the gluster services are restarted, but other problems persist.
In the case below, and this one happens many times, some people access the gluster filesystem via Samba.
They have a mapped drive in their windows machine.

Problems with agent dynamic login
Hi folks,
I'm running asterisk 1.2.10 and I need to use agent dynamic login. I
read some doc and follow some tutorials but the agents can't login into
the queue. Asterisk ask to me to dial the password agent and after
this, it doesn't do nothing ( it doesn't tell login ok or login
incorrect..). In the * console if I do show agents, any agent are logged.
Any help will be

Its my first time installing icecast...and i'm having problems
I've installed icecast. Then I run the server in the bg. I can encode to it
from winamp just fine, but I cant seem to stream from it. The icecast
verbose messages say "Kicking unknown #3 (hostmask) [no encoder]" or
something along those lines. Does this have something to do with my
deny/allow settings? Also, when I do a 'sources' it lists that there is a
source on mountpoint

Its my first time installing icecast...and i'm having problems
Both ports are enabled. Here is the actual ouput, maybe someone can make
more sense of it.
This is what happens when I try to stream (note that the encoder has been
accepted the line before):
-> [13/Dec/2001:13:46:42] [Bandwidth: 0.000000MB/s] [Sources: 0] [Clients:
0] [Admins: 1] [Uptime: 1 seconds]

Icecast admin interface
I have a problem with Icecast web admin interface.
My icecast.conf file contains :
acl_policy 1
deny all *
allow all *.via.ecp.fr
When connecting to my admin interface, I get a 403 error message ( You don't
have access to this entity (stream or file).), and icecast says "Kicking
unknown 48 [mallet.via.ecp.fr] [No mountfile found], connected for 0 seconds".

icecast.conf and wwwadmin
I recently installed for the first time:
icecast latest version: 1.3.12
ices latest version: 0.2.3
Things are moving along pretty well. Found out that I needed libxml-devel as
well as the regular libxml to get the ices XML conf file read. Otherwise,
functionality is great. CPU usage is low and Im very happy.
My question is... the docs say I need to set the http_admin to 1 to allow
access to web

Impossible to connect to ANY yp server
Greetings
I'm having problems announcing my stream on any yp server, using
Icecast v1.3.12 compiled with the optimization support.. I have
tried every directory server I could find, but I still get the same
result.
When I start icecast with an yp server available, I get this:
[09/Feb/2003:14:52:47] Using xaudiocast directory server
[yp.icecast.org:80/cgi-bin/touch]
.. and then I don't

XFS and CentOS 4.3
Hi All, after looking around for info on XFS(the filesystem) and its use
on CentOS and/or RHEL 4. There seems to be a lot of noise about 4K
Stacks (especially on linux-xfs at oss.sgi.com).
So what is the best way to get XFS working with CentOS 4.3 ? And not
have something like this happening.
A quote from the xfs list at sgi

Maildir hierarchy sep bug ?
Hello Timo,
I'm experiencing the following different behaviors with dovecot-1.1.8/Maildir.
My Maildir hierarchy separator is the "." (dot) character.
My namespaces, when I use them, separator is "/".
When I run the server without any namespaces, I can create mailboxes named something like
first.name
which, of course, are shown to the client as
first/ (non

No password for private network
I'd really like an option "noprivate" or somesuch within the 'authentication'
specification which would not require a password for listener requests originating
from a private network (192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x, etc ).
Is this posssible?
