Are you using liveice with -@ 2 option? You can see liveice's options by running it with the -h switch. I hope it helps you. --- Luis Gallardo. Caracas - Venezuela. reconnecting liveice
Hi everybody. Is there a way to set up liveice so it reconnects to Icecast automatically when the connection is lost?. I tried to automate this process by using a crontab and a perl script, but when liveice is run with the -@ 2 option It seams It doesn't realize that the connection has been broken and continues "running". If I do ps ax, I can see liveice is "running",

more fun with LAME - error in bitstream?
Hi folks! Having trouble with re-encoding to 160Kbps. I have: Linux-Mandrake 8.2 Icecast 1.3.12 IceS 0.2.2 source Lame 3.92 Hardware is: Celeron 533 w/256MB RAM, 40GB Disk All seems to work at first but after a few songs it craps out and give me an ERROR WITH BITSTREAM (or something real close...sorry). ALL of my MP3s are encoded using the --r3mix flag (VBR) with LAME 3.91 or 3.89. All

Propping up liveice
I'm a volunteer who runs the mp3 streaming for KGNU-FM in Boulder, Colorado. We stream live at 64K with Linux, icecast 1.3.12+ minor patches, liveice, and lame 3.92. It easily supports 32 internet listeners 24x7 from a donated 400MHz Pentium II. Liveice is the only problem--it does its job of connecting the soundcard rec in to the lame encoder and to icecast, but dies without

Metadata once more...with Ices
I use Ices with the perl module. I would like to know how to use the function supposed to return metadata, for example to read Id Tag. I didn't find anything in the documentation. Are there commands to get all the fields provided by the IdTag ? I also had strange results when commenting this function (in that case it is supposed to stream the name of the song, by reading the IdTag). With

New to Icecast
I've been lurking on the list for about a week, and want to start with this question. I've downloaded the latest Icecast file, do I also need IceS 0.2.3 source as well? What is the difference between the two files? thanks -Chris <p><p>===== ***************************************** GAIM ID: cmmiller1973 *****************************************

liveice problem
Hello everybody... I figure this is not exactly an icecast question, but maybe someone might be able to help. Icecast runs nicely as far as I can see, and so does liveice, apart from the fact I don't get any input signal fed into it. I think it's due to the fact it expects the signal on line in by default and the souncard only has a mic in. So I tried to use the built in mixer mode,

liveice.cfg location
Can I tell liveice to load a liveice.cfg in a location other than the same directory the liveice program is in? The problem is if I try to run liveice from anywhere other than it's directory it's not finding the liveice.cfg file. Let's say I'm at /. If I run /usr/local/icecast/bin/liveice from there it will not find the /usr/local/icecast/bin/liveice.cfg file. There has got to

how to start liveice with screen?
Moin, I installed liveice as well as 'screen' at a debian maschine, both applications are running fine. But when I try to start liveice in a 'screen' environment then the liveice process ends without an error message: $ /usr/bin/screen -dmS liveice /usr/bin/liveice A prefixed 'strace -f' shows me: [pid 5614] old_mmap(NULL, 167936, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE,

Run liveice as a background process...
Tried running it as non root user but something about the user not having access to the /dev/dsp audio device. I've got to give the user the ability to use that device? Thanks for the help.
