ogg bitrate scaling
I'm trying to get a bitrate scaled live ogg stream working,
but I've not found out how to get this running with the
current tools. I've downloaded the CVS icecast2, and darkice,
but the only option seems to be if the same stream is actually
encoded multiple times at different bitrates. This is not
good for my cpu.
Can I get bitrate scaled ogg streams working with the current
tools?

OK, I'm a clueless newbie...I'm using icecast on a
colocated server as a mirror to my shoutcast
server. Everything works ok, but the only info
shown in winamp is the stream title (station ID)
when connecting to the mirror. The shoutcast server
displays song info as it should, but the mirror is
not parsing it. How do I set things up to display

Can't you do it all from the one instance? I'm pretty sure I've seen it
done.
Geoff.

The shoutcast doc says:
If you want to broadcast to listeners, you'll need:
* 90Mhz or faster server, running one of Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME,
Mac OS X, Sparc Solaris 2.x, FreeBSD 3.x, FreeBSD 4.x, or Linux with
a libc6 kernel.
* 14kB of memory for every listener you want to broadcast to (i.e. 1,000
listeners means you need 14 Megabytes of RAM), plus whatever your

I'm trying to set up a live stream originating from line-in on my

I'm attempting to use Icecast2 and Ices2. I've been up and down the

as source. These .ogg files play find independent of Ices2/Icecast2.
Ices2 and Icecast2 are running on the same Redhat 9 machine.
In both cases, Winamp appears to

I don't understand why people keep complaining about this list. It's not
that anyone has the right to get personal assistance by the developers
(note: I am no developer). It's also better for all of us when the
developers don't have to waste their time on this list for minor/simple
things, imo.

Status.xsl not displaying everything
Hi guys,
I've got the following set up:
- Linux SuSE 8.2
- Running: Icecast2
- Source Client: Ices0.3
- Stream Client: Winamp 5.0 in Windows XP
The following is happening:
- I've got Ices0.3 streaming MP3's with correct ID3-tags to the
Icecast-server
- Suppose the stream name is "Ovide's Radio"
- In the status.xsl page of Icecast2, I only see info about: mountpount,
