Bad stuttering with Winamp 2.80
Very odd. Forget about this being anyone's problem but my own, my sound card just died horribly on that machine. Smoke even. =( My apologies for taking the list's time. ------ Dave Hayes - Consultant - Altadena CA, USA - dave@jetcafe.org >>> The opinions expressed above are entirely my own <<< "If a man loves the labor of his trade apart from any question of

Bad stuttering with Winamp 2.80
The only thing that has changed is the winamp version number. My radio streams are unaltered (to the point of the same process connecting to two versions of Winamp). What happens is that I begin to hear skips in the stream. Soon the stream is full on stuttering, as if a square wave was modulating the volume control. Anyone else experience this? ------ Dave Hayes - Consultant - Altadena CA, USA

Why doesn't yp.icecast.org show my stream?
[Reposted here, silence on the icecast list, is this deliberate?] Once again, I'm clueless as to what is going on because I don't have the source or logs to yp.icecast.org. I am touching yp.icecast.org fine: [14/Feb/2002:01:39:22] directory_touch_xa([yp.icecast.org:80]) completed...server id = 69 but my radio station isn't shown. More details on my setup: xmms -> darkice

Real UserAgent?
Hello All! Is there any chance of showing the real useagent in the "listclients.xsl" I like to keep track of what players and version is used. Winamp 2.x or 5.x only shows Winamp not "WinampMPEG/5.0" Now xmms useragents works like it should! Thanks John

Problems with 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22
We just built a new server to run Icecast 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22. It's a Dual PIII running RH7.1. We put it online last night and Icecast ran fine for 20 hours. Then it started throwing some errors.. That's when Ices died. Ices reported a libshout error. Part of the Icecast log is included. What can I do about this? Hunter [26/Aug/2001:16:05:01] [32:Connection Handler] Accepted

Why doesn't yp.icecast.org show my stream?
Jack Moffitt <jack@xiph.org> writes: > The source is in icecast cvs in the 'icedir' module. But what's > actually running is slightly modified. Heh. Is it possible to see a copy of what is actually running? I'm probing the directory server with a quick script but I'm getting 400 URL must be absolute which I should figure out soon. >>

Orphan threads with Cellphone (Blackberry) player
Friends: The icecast server is very robust, but has some goofiness with regard to use with cell-phone players. Has anyone else encountered these issues? When I use a Blackberry to access the icecast stream, I get orphan and duplicate client threads. trouble with GDM -- linux client to samba
Hi all, As an experiment I'm trying to log into a samba server (3.3.2) from GDM. Both systems are running Ubuntu 9.04 and LDAP is not involved. But it's not working. The test user credentials are donkey/donkey . On the client: # net rpc join -S 192.168.0.1 -U root Enter root's password: Joined domain LAB-SAMBA. # wbinfo -t checking the trust secret via RPC calls succeeded #

Winamp 2.80 Vorbis problem confirmed on my comp
I first downloaded Winamp Lite, which did not have Vorbis plugin, and installed the latest PP Vorbis plugin: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe That did not work, for some reason. Afterwards, I downloaded the Standard version and tried playing ogg files: it didn't work either. I installed the latest PP Vorbis plugin over this version, but still the same. What's up?? I

Stream Interruption Troubleshooting
Dear All, Icecast makes it possible that our Community/Student radio station reaches online listeners and it's FM transmitter. Operating with little or not budget, I've set up our streaming several times. Lately we are experiencing audio glitches and dropouts out of nowhere (setup hasn't changed tremendously). Similar cases I found on the list and elsewhere don't give general
