Good luck with that. Actually I didn't mean log. I meant the icecast console itself. If it's in the right console mode (2?) it will display everything that's happening and any error messages. Seems like the log only shows uptime info by default. Any ol' how, i think i've exhausted my in-depth technical prowess ;-) -----Original Message----- From: owner-icecast@xiph.org

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi, Is there anybody running Internet Explorer 5 on Windows? Since v5 works on MAC but v6 doesn't work on Windows, it would be very useful to know if the flash player works with Internet Explorer 5 on Windows. Lots of thanks in advance, MAX -----Original Message----- From: owner-icecast@xiph.org [mailto:owner-icecast@xiph.org] On Behalf Of Adon Irani Sent: Thursday, December 04, 2003 7:50

Re [ogg]
Ok I installed ices and everything installed fine. What am I supposed to run to stream .ogg files? icecast or ices? All I want to do is to start a streaming server for ogg/vorbis files. I guess what is confusing is why I need to run an icecast server and an ices server. Another thing that is confusing is why when I type in /usr/local/bin/ices /var/path to/ices-playlist.xml absolutely nothing

error with libshout
I don't know what's happening there. Thought maybe it was a mp3 file (I've had troubles with certain mp3s). Check your messages log in icecast (you can change the message detail with the console mode I believe). You might be getting a bad password or something on the icecast side and by looking at ices just seeing this error. Could be a bad port# ? Wish I could be of more help.

what's the plans for the website :-)
I've had a server co-located which I would've dedicated it and given admin access for beta testers, right now i am giving it back. I am / was running shoutcast for few more days. It is very easy to install Ikonboard as a FORUM or vBulletin or phpBulletin or something where you can get some action and have some people stay on the site. I've installed bunch of those. Have specific

I would be interestd in the answer. Hey, Tim. His problem was with liveice - which only allows one instance per directory because it uses named pipes with hard-coded filenames - not with icecast. > Hmm... Lame and ices
I apologize, I didn't get to the message about the archive. While on the archive, I don't think the search function works. I entered lame and checked use whole word. It gave a blank for the number of messages search and said 0 found. I did a manual search and found my answers I think. I must have compiled lame 3.7 on the old machine before I did the upgrade. The 3.88 rpms were in my

I've had the same issue. Must not be many subscribers or they've moved on to some other list. I switched to the linux Shoutcast for my server (much more reliable) and am looking for a replacement for ices that reliably re-encodes VBR. Let me know if you find anything. BTW...maybe if you posted your config files for ices and icecast i could compare it with mine (or my old one for
