icecast with stunnel
You're right, it's not that important that I encrypt it....it's more a proof of concept thing. I thought using ssh in this way would require a mp3 player that could handle SSL connections, but I haven't done much investigating (obviously). So thanks, I'll try doing that. hayne Jack Moffitt wrote: >>Anyway, I am investigating a way to get a secure stream from home

Dear all, I had notice that my logwatch has a heap of stunneling like the one below. Hmmm, you obviously know a lot more about systemd than I do, I'm going to have to look at what you posted more carefully. looking for stunnel configuration file for /etc/xinetd.d/
Hi all Does anyone have a config file for stunnel, to work with /etc/xinetd.d? Stunnel's man page does mention it can work with xinetd, but there's no sample configuration for it. -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers

Starting stunnel on boot with CentOS7
The stunnel package doesn't come with an init script and systemctl doesn't list it as a service I recognize, I guess I could put it in /etc/rd.d/rc.local or create a script in /etc/rc.d/init.d but thought I'd ask before creating my own solution. Dovecot 1.2 - Quotas - Ignoring Trash folder
Hello guys, Firstly I would like to state that I am fairly new to Dovecot. I have played around with it in the past here and there but mainly with debian packages. I have compiled this version of Dovecot from source, so please go easy with me. Ok now down to my questions: I am having trouble getting Dovecot to 'ignore' the Trash folder when summing up the used quota for a user.

Rsync hangs on large files over stunnel
Greetings. Here's my setup: On the server - rsync 2.5.6 protocol version 26 stunnel 4.04 on i686-suse-linux-gnu PTHREAD with OpenSSL 0.9.7b On the client - rsync version 2.6.6 protocol version 29 stunnel 4.14 on i686-suse-linux-gnu UCONTEXT+POLL+IPv4+LIBWRAP with OpenSSL 0.9.8a Both ends run rsync as root The rsync daemon listens on a non-default port that is only bound to 127.0.01.

As I've said before...
Don't say I didn't warn you: http://digitaldaily.allthingsd.com/20100520/googles-royalty-free-webm-video-may-not-be-royalty-free-for-long Don't get me wrong, I'll be as ecstatic as any of you to see Theora and VP8 succeed, I just see the patent system as far more insidious than I think many of you do. Problems starting Wavelab
hi i've been running steinberg's wavelab 5 under wine20041201, but recently i upgraded to wine20050111 - and wavelab was the only app i was using that didn't work ... so i downgraded back to 20041201 - and it won't work :( i had compiled the 2005 release from source (and was able to see, for the first time, wine's jack audio driver work ... well, *try* to work), but have

Source can't connect to Icecast with SSL enabled
No I haven't because I thought SSL would be only enabled for the listener auth, not source auth. So apparently if I want listener SSL the source must support SSL also ? That sounds kind of unnecessary and preferably should be an option. If this is not possible I guess stunnel is the only way to go. Thank you very much. On Wed, Jan 14, 2015 at 1:46 PM, "Thomas B. Prefs for rsync of ssh or stunnel?
We're looking at using rsync over an encrypted link, and are debating the virtues of ssh vs stunnel. I know rsync can hammer a network-layer implementation, so have others done this, and if so, which is better - rsync over ssh or rsync over stunnel? I leaning towards stunnel as it's just a "pure" SSL transport layer with nothing else to worry about, whereas sshd implies

Stunnel and postgres?
Does anyone have some docs on setting up postgres and stunnel? I have stunnel 4.04 and postgresql-8.x running on a db server and want a tomcat app server to connect to it using an encrypted connection. All of the examples I've found seem to be for an older version of stunnel. TIA Mike

Theora patent question
Does the reason Theora is relatively safe from patent infringement lawsuit have more to do with it actually not being encumbered, or is it because its use is decentralized? For example, FreeType is not patent-free, nor is Linux, yet they succeed because on the one hand, they are open source, and those who maintain them do not guarantee anything regarding patents, it is up to each individual user
