It's simplistic, but have you tried forcing all icecast code to
compile with gdb support enabled, then running it in GDB?

Connecting to yp.shoutcast.com
I'm using Icecast 1.3.11..
It connects to yp.icecast.org and yp.mp3.de just find.. it looks like
it's trying to go to
http://yp.icecast.org/cgi-bin/touch
However, the shoutcast one says: completed...server id = -1
While the others say: serverid = 69
<p>Has Shoutcast changed something, so that icecast can no longer find

Compiling on a Cobalt RaQ1
Hello,
I've downloaded version 2.5.2 and I tried compiling that one on a Cobalt RaQ1 server (maybe anyone has heard of them, they have that neat blue front). What I want is to make the RaQ1 a remote backup server, so I thought Rsync would be usefull...
The compilation did not work, it stalled trying to compile clientserver.c (or something, I cannot acces the RaQ from where I am now). There

I don't think it was an idiot, just someone who left his computer for
the weekend and hasnt come back to check it. (An educated guess, to say
the least)

libpthread and icecast2
Heres a question for anyone awake at this hour, does icecast2 require
libpthread? I'm trying to build it on a freebsd 4.3 box, and it wants to
link against libpthread. If this is not required on the freebsd
platform, then is it safe to just take out of the makefile?
Thanks

Another icecast2 question
Well, I just keep coming back for more <g>
Here's one for ya: how much CPU should icecast2 consume? Its been
sitting on the server for a while now, and its running full CPU.
I recently restarted it, thinking it might have had a problem with me
connecting/disconnecting the source a bit, and it shot right back uip
once it was reloaded.
here's what top currently shows it as. Also for

Centos 4.1 on RaQ 550?
Has anyone ever tried to install 4.0 or 4.1 on an old Sun RaQ 550 Cobalt
machine? If so would you be willing to share your procedure and experience?
I have spent several hours googling and have found how to do this with
Fedora Core 1 using a 2.4 kernel. However I am wondering what Cobalt
specific patches have to be applied to get 2.6 kernel to work. I have
not found anything related to

.ssh/: Is a directory
I'm depending on scp to create the .ssh directory (which is does) but it
can't use the directory it just created in the current session thus the
"error" message. I would like to run the command just once if possible :)
Is it possible I could get a patch if this is changed?

Perhaps the real question you should ask is..."should" anyone worry
about this at all?
Personally speaking, I've been streaming for quite a while (barring a
few networking problems) and I've always seen the same behavior from
the shoutcast (Nullsoft) people.

Queston on using the delete option
You brought up a very good point which described what rsync can and can
not do. Because of the robustness of this application, we are trying
to find a way to use rsync and replacing our current primitive system
which uses tar and send the data over a small pipe.
Since my last posting, I have thought about not using the
"--delete"option and instead, gather a list of files to be
