icecast 2 testing
hello, could someone test the my icecast 2 server? there should be a stream at http://real.radiostudio.org:8000/vorbis, but I'm not able to listen to it. I don't know if the problem in winamp or in icecast or in my streaming application. You could also send a stream to it, it's the default icecast password. I would be very happy if someone could test it :)))))) mörk --- >8 ----

Ices2 compile error - streaming ogg!
Actually, you don't have to check out ogg and vorbis from CVS. You can just use Vorbis 1.0, if you like. ices was updated to use the Vorbis 1.0 encoding API, and that is the source of the errors the original poster was seing. --- Stan Seibert <p>On Wed, 2002-07-31 at 15:23, D. Streaming
Hi, I have been browins through the archives for a bit now, however I cannot seem to find any direct answer to a question I have. What streaming tools are/will be available for ogg vorbis? I found this quote on vorbis.com: "What about streaming in Ogg Vorbis format? Streaming is an important component of Vorbis. The format has been designed from the ground-up to be easily streamable. Problems streaming Ogg Vorbis with icecast2+ices
Hello, Perhaps it is a typical question but i've got stuck. I'm using icecast2+ices to stream some ogg vorbis files or voice_in_life (/dev/dsp) over the network/internet. All seems to work fine, for example using: ogg123 http://127.0.0.1:8000/mount works :). And: ogg123 http://my_internet_ip:8000/mount works too from another pc over internet and far away :). Using mplayer works fine

A large streaming project
Hi I've just become involved in a company that is starting a new large project which involves streaming thousands of Internet radio stations, possibly up to 8000. They were heading towards the Windows Media format but I mentioned Ogg Vorbis streaming and they are interested. This will be a major boost to Ogg Vorbis in the market place if they decide to do it. I'm not exactly sure

OGG streaming
Well, got OGG streaming working today with the ACM codec. (As a Winamp DSP plugin) There is only two bitrates available & it used 100% CPU on my PII 333 Mhz - but it connected to SHOUTcast and streamed to it I know SHOUTcast & ICEcast will currently discard non-mp3 headers anyway, but at least the process is working halfway. :) So once ICEcast & the Winamp plugin supports streaming

icecast 2.0 semi-permanent test stream
Icecast 2.0 and Ices 2.0 are both fairly usable now. I have set up a semi-permanent test stream for people to bang on at: http://i.cantcode.com:8888/ices.ogg Please report any problems you have. I say semi-permanent, because it will probably crash now and then, and I will be developing and putting up the new versions on a regular basis. If it stops working for more than an hour, somethings

streaming both mp3 and ogg
That's fine and all for people who run the latest WinAmp or XMMS that do support Ogg Vorbis (aside from the vanilla Red Hat 8.0 users), but some of us must stream in .mp3 format. That is what the users expect. I am guessing, however, and look to have some time today to try and implement this, that I can dual stream on my Icecast box while running icecast 1.3.12 on port 8000 and then set up a

Howto stream using icecast/ices bit rate peeled ogg files
Icecast / Vorbis community, I have a icecast/ices audio streaming server from which I stream ogg audio files. I know that I can encode different streams for low, medium and /or high quality broadcasts (for example). However, I would like to have one stream that uses bit rate peeling to send the user the highest quality stream that their bandwidth will allow. Has any one done this? Does any

OT: OGG in the mainstream
I think when the real-time cbr encoding issues are sorted Vorbis (this is my experience with oddcast dsp, winamp and icecast 2 win32, big cpu hog) will start gaining more ground, also I think it will also gain more ground when it starts getting implemented into the more mainstream software and hardware products. For the most part vbr mp3 (btw, provide mp3's for downloads as vbr.. Better

Ices2 compile error - streaming ogg!
Still trying to stream ogg and have not gotten past a make error in ices2. We www.freespeech.org are an independent media / news site so it would be nice to get this running and support this new format. I'd love to convert all of our 700 streaming video files from from realmedia as well but thats another story! Perhaps this is not the correct forum but it seems like there are a lot of

Hi Jack, Ross & all... We have been working with V-Trails in refining their solution for Mp3 streaming and will be bearing the fruits of this labor starting this weekend publicly with 5 different "Audiorealm Network" stations for first initial public testing - after final testing we look to release this solution NETWORK wide - making the Audiorealm.com Network effectively the first

Ogg Vorbis and streaming
Hi. I'd like to ask a little about where Ogg stands today when it comes to streaming audio. The VBR has been the main argument in the incompatibility for streaming but has this changed somehow or will it? Is there something else besides quick and large scaled bandwith usage variations and the difficulty of buffering, that could cause problems? CBR could be used but some people say that it

Ogg/Icecast vs. Real
After reading through an older thread on this list (streaming ogg audio), I was wondering if would be possible in the future to use OggVorbis and Icecast as a replacement for RealAudio and RealServer. By this I'm not talking about simple live http/tcp streaming, but on-demand rtsp/udp streaming where a user could open a player and instantly jump to a location in a file, or click a link in a
