icecast/shout and kick problems
Hello Technical Guys,
I have follwing problem and I hope someone has an idea.
My stream Server is icecast and I use shout to stream the mjusic to the
server. Sometimes the listeners where kickted, and I don't know what it is.
the logfile icecast.log shows me following entry

about playlist
I have the icecast with some ices working perfectly in a Linux server,
mp3
files are reproduced with no problems, I'm quite satisfied with it but I
have a little doubt!
When users click the link at the HTML page, their default player (like
xmms,
winamp... etc) doesn't load.
That's how I've made the link:

Multiple Mountpoints Problem
Hello,
I've searched far and wide on the net and the only thing I've come up
with is that no one has ever had this problem.
I'm running Icecast 1.3.12 and the latest liveice on a Slackware 8.1
box. The idea here is that I need to stream a live source in multiple
bitrates. I am having a problem that is just about going to send me
back to Shoutcast.
I have set up two

winamp >2.75 -answer on song titles // use_meta_data-
I've searched the archives on xiph and elsewhere in hopes of finding an
answer on whether song titles will work. There seems to be no definitive
answer.
use_meta_data 1 DOES work for WinAmp 2.75 but nothing else I've tried (which
includes the latest WinAmp and Sonique). Also, I can get some header by
telnetting into my port (see below) but still the "meta_data" issue remains

ID3 info and Streaming titles
Hi,
I'd really like to enable ID3 tags and streaming titles.
> From reading icecast.conf I realise this is experimental.
I'm assuming experimental means works most of the time :-)
I've set this flag, however receive no ID3 tags or streaming titles.
use_meta_data 1
I need some guidance on this one, im using icecast 1.3.12 and ices
0.2.3.
Thanks,

Relay of title info
Hi Icecast users!
I have a Debian box running with Icecast 1.3.11, installed from package
icecast-server 1:1.3.11-4.3 from the unstable tree.
It's purpose is to relay a bunch of stations using the alias
functionality. It all works like a charm except the title information.
When relaying stations like Groove Salad from soma.fm WinAMP doesn't show
the title info.
In my icecast.conf

winamp >2.75 -answer on song titles // use_meta_data-
also, keep in mind that support for streaming song titles is also a
function of the source client you use....
I've been very successful with use_meta_data=1 and using either my DSP
source (oddcast) or the Shoutcast DSP source....
and you can always know for sure if song titles are supported on your
server by looking at the HTTP response headers from a request of the
stream, (your request

How about a read() to a dummy variable with a 1 second timeout to consume
the octothorpe and password?

inspecting what''s going in a class
Well, things seem to be going really well with tbf, prio and sfq. But
I''m a nosey bugger. :-) I''d love to be able to audit what''s going
through each of the prio bands.
The super ideal solution would be to be able to attach tcpdump to each
band and see what''s going through it with the benefit of tcpdump''s
filtering so that I can examine and filter

asterisk core dumped after UBUNTU 14.04 dist-upgrade
Hi
I had a bad experience upgrading Ubuntu a few months ago.
Today I made a "dd" copy to another harddisk and tried to dist-upgrade.
I get "Illegal instruction (core dumped)" running "service asterisk debug" at
random places.
Any help will be appreciated to spot this problem.
I think it is worth to mention that the dadhi hardware is not present at the

SSL traffic on RTP instance without an SSL session
Hi All
We've been reading this in the CLI a lot lately:
Received SSL traffic on RTP instance '0x7fe7481faad8' without an SSL
session
How can we find details about this particular RTP instance?
"rtp set debug" needs an IP which is precisely what I want to know (and I don't)!

Function IMPORT and Local channels
Hi all
These questions were asked back in 2009 at lists.digium.com and got unanswered:
- Has someone been successful in using IMPORT on a Local channel ?
- Is there a known limitation in doing so ?
I run into the same problem.
${IMPORT(Local/1234 at example-abcd;2,CALLERID(dstchannel))} returns nothing.
But I can read the dstchannel for it into the CDR.
Asterisk is 11.7.0~dfsg-1ubuntu1

Is there a way from dialplan to know, *before* Dial(), if a destination

I want to have a Add/Selected checkbox with which the user can pick

how many streams can icecast handle ?
hi everyone
For my diploma work on streaming music, I'm looking into
cost of handling a large amount of users.
Somehow I couldnt find some experience on the net about
how many concurrent streams a single box could handle
using icecast (without encoding, just the streaming
of pre-encoded mp3-files).
Does anybody have some experience that I could include
as a reference point ?
Thanks !
