Compatibility of GPL 2.0 licensed SSL library
Hi all,
I'm wondering if the GPL-2.0 licensed mbedTLS (that's the version in
OpenWrt) is 'compatible' with NUT binaries (not including the Python or
Perl binaries which aren't used in OpenWrt) which is GPL 2.1+ AIUI.
Because mbedTLS is the default library for OpenWrt and NSS is not yet in
OpenWrt, and because OpenSSL is considered incompatible (I seem to
recall reading that

OT- GPL, Linux, TiVo
Tivo *has* released their changes to the Linux PPC kernel, as they are
required to do by the GPL because they *have* distributed those
changes... in every. single. machine.
http://www.tivo.com/linux/linux.asp
They have not released the source to their own application that runs on
Linux, nor are they required to.

Oh, right, sorry -- understand what you mean now.
BTW, one of the worst assumptions I've seen is that because a distro
or project ships something, its users believe it was done legally or
with permission. I've seen many cases where

floss manuals, theora and gpl
hi,
a few weeks ago I wrote to say there is a repository for a manual on
theora at www.flossmanuals.net
Just a small addition to say we are changing all docs from the FDL to
the GPL.
kind regards,

GPL PV Drivers for Windows: install.bat problem
Hi,
I just played with the new GPL PV driver release a bit, and there''s a
problem when running the included install.bat from a read-only device
(pvdriver.zip was extracted, and "burned" to virtual CD)
Cause of this problem:
During installation dpinst.exe is copied to the matching driver directory
(located on the install media) and executed there. Unfortunately this
fails

your solution could include GPL software and still be sold; you would
be selling your propprietary configuration of the components, and your
support guarantee. Including the source and so on is not something
that needs to be played up.

GPL PV Xen Net drive not keeping gateway information
Hello,
I have noticed lately that upon reboot of my Win2k8 x64 my Xen Net device
drivers do not store the default gateway information. It is keeping the IP,
Subnet and DNS settings.
Has anyone else seen this behavior or know a way to resolve it?
Thanks!

Suspected GPL violation by Erightsoft "super"
Hi guys,
the SUPER codec by Erightsoft
http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html
contains lots of GPL and LGPL code:
mplayer, ffmpeg, x264, musepack, theora,
which they admit and give credit for.
Still, their product is proprietary,
and they insist on it. I tried to get
the source through their forum, but they
of course won't give it:

Gluster's proposal to adopt GPL cure enforcement
Hi all,
Following the lines of Red Hat's announcement for commitment for better
open-source model, along with many other companies (lead by
Facebook/Google/IBM) [1], Gluster project is also proposing to have the
COMMITMENT statement in its project.
While we discuss about the same here, a RFC patch is submitted to review.

Re: Modules in gnulib that are GPL and are used in libguestfs
How did you construct this list? It appears to list modules which are
not used by libguestfs directly or indirectly, eg (picked at random):

> avltree-list:24:GPL
> avltree-oset:21:GPL

The .gnulib subdirectory is the gnulib submodule, so it contains a
complete copy of the gnulib

well, correct me if I'm wrong, but there is at least one module that is
used and is GPL: xvasprintf
