I vote for documenting the --channel-map option in the --help I don't like the idea of rejecting a multichannel file merely for mapping, so there should be a documented option plus an error message pointing to the option. I downloaded 20 images from the Internet with rather good quality (mainly faces), I compressed them at high compression -l7 setting with the NHW Project, and on 19 images out of 20, I visually prefer the results of NHW compared to x265 (HEVC)!!! -I can make available these 20x3=60 512x512 24bit bitmap images

Don't overlook the FLAC in Ogg container solution. That's established as a standard for some time now, as far as I know, and would probably be better than a new, proprietary multi mono bundle. I haven't used it myself, but people have been talking about it for a while, and I believe that some "FLAC" users are actually working with FLAC in Ogg container files. Brian
