FLAC plug-in for Adobe Premiere
Hey everyone, I've written a FLAC plug-ing for Adobe Premiere. It's actually part of the Ogg Vorbis plug-in I originally set out to write. You can see it here on GitHub: https://github.com/fnordware/AdobeOgg I just finished the first beta a few hours ago. You can download binary plug-ins from here: http://www.fnordware.com/downloads/Ogg_v0.5b1_mac.zip

Meaning of mapping[]
Hey everyone, I've added Ogg Opus support to my Adobe Premiere plug-in here: http://github.com/fnordware/AdobeOgg Now I'll add Opus support to me WebM plug-in too. I've got this Opus stuff mostly figured out, but I have a few questions. Here's one: What do the numbers in mapping mean? I see that opus.h refers to the Vorbis channel mapping order, so does mapping in Opus take

Windows linking problems
Hey everyone, I've come to appeal to the FLAC gods again. I have a plug-in for Adobe Premiere that adds support for Ogg Vorbis, Opus, and hopefully FLAC. But I can't get FLAC to link on Windows for some reason. I had to add x64 targets to the .vcproj files that ship with FLAC, so perhaps something went wrong there. Then I tried making new projects from scratch and importing the FLAC

Opus in WebM
What got me experimenting with Opus is that I heard it's going to be a supported codec in WebM, which I also have a Premiere plug-in for: http://github.com/fnordware/AdobeWebM I just posted a new beta that includes Opus support. Naturally, I *think* I'm doing it right, but I'd love for someone more knowledgeable about Opus or WebM to take a look. The closest thing to a standards

(newbie alert) - home DV video and Premiere?
Howdy. I'm sorry if this has been discussed already, I missed it. (Just point me to the right archive if there is such a thing?) <p>Q1) Is there an easy "setup.exe" or similar, to install the Vorbis codec into Windows? Q2) Would that codec then be available under Adobe Premiere (or Windows Media Player for that matter)? Q3) Anyone recommend codec & settings, for

Seeking in WebM
Hi everyone, I'm working on a WebM plug-in for Premiere. You probably already know that WebM is a Matroska container that uses Vorbis for audio compression. I'm pretty new to the world of audio compression and need some help. You can see my code here: http://github.com/fnordware/AdobeWebM First of all, I wonder if it's possible to seek to an exact audio sample in WebM. Whereas

I think what you're looking for, for your purposes, is an ACM codec, to produce Vorbis data wrapped in a RIFF-WAV header. For use in WAV and AVI and the like. I did come across such a beast a while back, but I think it had trouble recognizing/decoding RC2-encoded data.

Opus in WebM
Yes, it's basically an intrinsic aspect of the mathematics. If you seek into the middle of an Opus stream, that's about how long it takes before the audio converges to be correct. Dropped frames streaming video to samba
Hi, We've got a setup here with a samba server in front of a fibrechannel array. It's a pretty vanilla samba setup exporting an xfs filesystem. The box is an opteron 265 with 4G RAM and a QLogic QLA2312 HBA running SLES9. We can dd an 8G file to a share from a windows workstation in just over 2 minutes (about 65MB/s) and dd back in about 4 minutes. Local disk performance in the machine

xentop, anyone?
Has anyone started work on a ''top''-like tool that would show the current CPU and memory usage of domains? I''m thinking of writing something really simple in python, starting from listdoms.py, but want to make sure that someone else isn''t already there. Steve -- Stephen G. .html.erb files and autotest
When I work with a .html.erb file, the autotest rspec on rails stuff doesn''t understand the file to map it to the right test. I wanted to submit a patch for this, but I''m unsure where the specs would be to update. I found the necessary mapping in rspec_autotest.rb, but I can''t find any specs anywhere. Help? I just need to have /app/views/coupon/index.html.erb to map to

Rails Book finally hits Japan
...and everybody is struggling with the globalization/localization. I''ve been monitoring the Japanese rails mailing list and there''s a Tokyo study group already drawing attention. I think they''re having their fourth meeting soon. There''s a couple toy applications out there and I believe cookpad.com is currently being rewritten with rails in the background.

Graceful shutdown of a virtual domain
Hi All, I''ve been looking through the code and list archives but haven''t found this yet... From dom0, how do you cause a virtual domain to gracefully shutdown? It seems like the machinery is there somewhere, because the hypervisor can do it to dom0... For reference, in UML you do this by putting this in /etc/inittab: ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -h now ...and then
