[BUG] --sector-align zero padding is not entirely zero
Hi, A user at the www.thetradersden.org website reported a difference when fixing "sector boundary errors" in CD-quality WAV files with shntool and flac. As as result of investigating this, I think I've found a bug in the zero-ising of the buffer used to zero-pad the last file when encoding with the --sector-align option. My test consisted of the creation of four

Legal issues
Greetings! I've been asked to set-up an Icecast stream / live webcam for a small club, and I'm worried about what kind of payments the owner would have to make to stream the club's music over the internet. I found this article: <http://www.copyright.gov/carp/webcasting_rates_final.html> but I still don't know what to make of it. Would we have to pay $0.07 per song the DJ

Splitting a WAV file to aid gapless playback
Assuming I have a WAV file that represents a continous performance, e.g. a recording of a live concert, which I want to play continously on a CD but nevertheless have track marks so that individual items can be selected some WAV splitting programs offer the ability to split the file into pieces which are an exact multiple of the CD sector size so that when recording all these files to CD with no

Understanding Default RAID Behavior
The Wiki does not make it clear as to why adding a secondary device defaults to RAID1 metadata and RAID0 data. I bought two SSDs with the intention of doing a BTRFS RAID0 for my root. What is the difference between forcing RAID0 on metadata and data as opposed to the default behavior? Can anyone clarify that? Heal not working
Hi, I have a volume created of 12 bricks and with 3x replication (no stripe). We had to take one server (2 bricks per server, but configured such that first brick from every server, then second brick from every server so there should not be 1 server multiple times in any replica groups) for maintenance. The server was down for 40 minutes and after it came up I saw that gluster volume heal home0

VoicePulse Connect
Asterisk Users, Has anybody use Voicepulse Connect for Asterisk? I am trying to cover all my bases because in the past, I got burned with poor quality of service, along with failed DTMF tones with 3 different SIP Providers (Vitelity, Broadvoice, and Teliax). I am running Asterisk 1.2.13 on the Debian Etch system, using the SIP protocol. Any insights would be great. Thanks. -John

Dovecot (IMAP) Hangs sometimes
Hi there! I'm using Dovecot 1.0.7 in RHEL 5.4 64bits as a IMAP/POP3 server. Dovecot authenticates users against an AD server via kerberos (pam configuration) and clients connect to it via IMAPs and POP3s with SSL. Webmail is in localhost and connects locally also with SSL. All is fine and people use the email server normally and with no problems. But, I have noticed that dovecot hangs

Booting non Linux Os
Hello, I have been trying to use PXELINUX to boot a non Linux OS (QNX6). It works if I set the image to be of type .bs (BOOT SECTOR). However this only works if the file is below ~550K. If I go over that size the screen gets fill with gargabe ;-) I think that's because the image is meant to be load by the QNX6 loader. It doesn't have a BIOS signature but rather a custom signature.

anyone using flac --sector-align?
is anyone using the --sector-align option of flac, or flac frontend, or shntool? that option actually complicates the flac code a lot and I would like to take it out if possible. it really belongs in a higher level encoding or burning tool. if you are using it, let me know which tool you use it with and if it's with wave, aiff, or raw files.

SMB/NMBD configuration troubles.
Folks, I am stumped! I have followed every tech tip I could find and I am still unable to complete my SMB installation. Specifically, I fail Test 4 and Tests 9 and 10. I believe the problem has something to do with the NMBD configuration. Below are the parameters of our system. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd like to incorporate this a s much as possible as the "FLAC Standard" if it's OK with you guys, since ideally FLAC will be the etree.org format of choice, replacing Shorten. >> Filesize compressed >> >this is

"isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" when booting USB flash drive in old PC
Hi, > In theory, the geometry assumed in the MBR should > match the one assumed by the BIOS. To be exacting: The geometry assuming part of the MBR is the partition table, not the executable MBR code. Of course it would be nice if C/H/S was not such a brain damaged concept which has two semi-secret parameters. The geometry parameters are not recorded anywhere in the MBR. One can sometimes
