problem with 24 bit odd size file (even in new version)
i had the problem is flac 1.1.2 so upgraded to 1.1.4 but now the problem is just
different. the wav file is from audacity, so i guess it is culprit
for setting that
format type 1 bit, but shouldn't this still work?
i found in 1.1.2 (before i found 1.1.3 had the odd size fix judging by
relnotes) that i could add a dummy byte to the end and this seems to
fix my issue, just not cleanly.

Winamp security hole
Hello, some of you might consider this to be OT but I think it's
important enough to warrant telling people.
" A "highly critical" hole in one of the most-used pieces of software
in the world means that audio files will be music to hackers' ears.
The ubiquitous WinAmp program - used to play a huge range of media
files - can provide someone with system access

WinAmp RC1/RC2 problem
Hi,
I've got a number of sound effects for a mod of a game in Ogg Vorbis format,
encoded with OggDrop (RC2). WinAmp with Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder RC1 and RC2
freeze when I try to play those files. Maybe it's because the files are so
small?
Both OGG and WAV versions can be found at

help for segmented package
Hi,
I am trying to find m breakpoints of a linear regression model. I
used the segmented package. It works fine for small number of
predicators and breakpoints.(3 r.v. 3 points). However, my model has
14 variables it even would not work even for just one breakpoints!.
The error message is always estimated breakpoints are out of range.
Since my problem is time related problem. So I

Strange problem with Winamp 2.77 & Win2k
Hi all,
here I have Windows 2000( Brazilian edition ) with SP2 installed and Winamp
2.77, with Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder 1.15b.
Playing works perfect, with very low CPU usage. But if I pause or stop
playing, CPU utilization goes to 100% and never gets out from there, only
if I close Winamp or start playing again.
I've seen this through Task Manager but looks like it's not his fault,

A Tribute to my Great Grandmother (Off Topic)
I realize this is off-topic, but I need to post it.
I had to go up to Connecticut on January the 12th quite unexpectedly
because my great-grandmother Ethel, someone I was very close to, died
that morning, at 93 years old. She was an incredible woman. I was
asked to be one of the pallbearers.
Her ultimate goal in life, and one she fulfilled every day, was to
make people laugh. She truly

How do they like paying $15k in royalties a year? Or did you not tell
them about that part? :)
Honestly, it really sucks that we work so hard on this stuff, and

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
Ok, it's not as bad as I thought. With some investigation and
discussion with a "Major Dude" in the Winamp forums, it appears to be a
bug in Winamp v5.22 with streams that end with the mountpoint extension
.aac. I changed the mountpoint to end with .aacp and now it works fine.
Regards,
Ross.

I am using 1.3.12+patch at the moment. That patch I have on it was the
one I submitted earlier which fixes the problem with the wrong
arguments passed to snprintf in the avl code. That shouldn't affect
sound.
I'm fairly certain it's a

Alternate winamp plugin.
Hello everyone,
I just thought that you should know that I was talking to someone the other
day and it seems that someone fairly close to Nullsoft has created his own
winamp plugin. I'm just suggesting this as an alternate plugin for those
that wish to try it. I had nothing to do with writing it so please don't
e-mail me about it. It's slightly more finished than the current winamp

[Flac-users] Winamp 2/Winamp 3 and FLAC plug-ins
I know that Winamp has its loyal following. I've never used it much. Also,
I'm a novice at computer music. I've always just bought CD's and never used
computer music. So perhaps I'm an idiot or just not very music-software
literate, but I so far haven't been impressed with Winamp, or the FLAC
plug-in. Just for one example, I've got a dual-Althlon MP 2000 system

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but
the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with
Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. This may be some
attempt by Winamp developers to force people to use Shoutcast, or to
prevent oddcast from using their enc_aacplus.dll.
Right, just took some time to set up the Shoutcast DSP to

Something else, Greg. Are you aware of any 3G / 2.5G (EDGE) clients for
mobile phones that support AAC+ streaming? Be it java or symbian based.
Thanks

winamp 5 release
I just downloaded & installed the final release and it works fine for me.
There is still the old problem with Winamp crashing when a vorbis stream is
interrupted or the internet connection is dodgy. This is an issue with
in_vorbis.dll v1.35 and Nullsoft don't appear to want to fix it.

question about icecast & winamp & media player
Ahah!
I knew I was not the only person who has experienced this with winamp. The
problem here is winamp 2.7. It seems that when I tuned into my shoutcast
servers (when I ran shoutcast) with winamp 2.7 the longest period I could
hold a stream was a little more then an hour. No matter what I did it would
bit the dust. There was some discussion about this on the shoutcast
broadcaster list, but no one
