metaflac --remove-all-tags
there something fishy going on, have about 21 flac files, in a folder, and 9 of them still showing meta tag data in juk. When running metaflac --list, show nothing on all 21 files, however in amarok and juk I can still see some info on 9 flac files. Howdoes one fix these flac files? are they corrupted? flac -t came back ok on all Anyone ? Richard

Re: James Chapman FLAC 1.1.2 File Filter for Cool Edit Pro 2
Hello, Different how? When displaying the wave in Cool Edit (it's to say, the FLAC file itself is opened and decoded through the Chapman filter), the audio wave result shows little differences : changes in frequencies at a given time, lower or higher; not many changes, but changes! I attribute this to the filter, because when decoding with your soft, already used for encoding, no problem

winbind / sid problem.
Hello all, I have a strange problem that I'd like advice on. Here I run several samba servers as home directory and print servers for an NT 4.0 (sp6a) domain. The domains relevant to this problem are CANNING and STUDENT. The STUDENT domain trusts users in the CANNING domain. My samba server is RedHat 6.2 (+ updates) running samba 2.2.7 (built today). I upgraded because of a different

Hello, thanks, and how do I...
First of all, congratulations on the success of the Ogg Vorbis format - I am now the proud owner of an Ogg player (iRiver iHP120). Any starting advice for a newbie Ogger would be appreciated! I have ripped about 16 albums with Audiograbber, Ogged them, and loaded them onto the player. The first problem I found was that Exact Audio Copy was reading silence, so I junked that. The second is that one

Flac metadata at end?
Flac is great, but I have some questions about the way the metadata is stored. It takes an age to retag the file because all the data has to be shuffled around the disk. For most formats (ogg, mp3) the filesize is small, but I was thinking, why not have the metadata at the end of the file? This would not really be a problem for streaming, since you just read out the metadata from the end

How to add to EPEL wishlist?
Does anyone know how to submit wishes to the EPEL Wishlist here? http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/WishList It reads "Immutable Page". They say: "Please add packages that are part of Fedora but lack a EPEL maintainer to this list", but there is no way to do that! They don't say if "Packages part of Fedora" means "Core" or it can be Extras too, but

2nd attempt - Repairing vorbis files
Hello, No public anwer came to my previous post, and my problem is urgent, so I'm trying again. I'm using Ogg Vorbis since 2000 and some of my files appear to be damaged - at least some players reject some of them (WinAmp, Quintessential Media Player beta 116). Is there a repair tool for Windows which could rebuild vorbis files so that they all could be played in WinAmp, which is very

LVM snapshots vs. --link-dest
I currently do incremental backups using --link-dest. Unchanged files are hard links to the previous snapshot; changed files are new copies. Where this "fails" is for large files that have received small changes. The directory containing my main IMAP account, for example, typically generates between 1 and 2 G of daily backup data as I file messages in my inbox. Yesterday, though,
