Re: seeking problems
Did you try OggFLAC and MkaFLAC as alternative containers ? For OggFLAC you need libogg, the Xiph documentation should be describing how to seek in the file. But i dont know if using another container than native FLAC framing is an option for you ..... New Directshow filters preview...
I have been developing some directshow filters for ogg, and vorbis and speex... currently i have an ogg demux filter and a speex/vorbis decoding filter. In this pre-release only vorbis is operational... but the speex decoder is pretty much done... i jsut need to tweak the demux filter so that it can negotiate a speex connection with the other filter. Just though some people might find them useful

Muxing vorbis in WebM
Hi Vorbis-Dev, I'm investigating various WebM/Vorbis bugs in chromium. AFAIK muxing Vorbis inside of WebM does not have an official specification, so I'm using ffmpeg's implementation to try to answer 2 questions: 1. Under what circumstances is it valid to find WebM Blocks containing Vorbis data with zero duration? (This would mean the next Block in the Cluster has the exact

Muxing a52/ac3 and Theora
Is there a program currently available that will correctly mux a52/ac3 streams and theora streams into an ogg container? I've tried oggzmerge, and it will mux ac3 into ogm and correctly create a new ogm from an existing theora file, but it doesn't seem to put the two together correctly.

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs available. This is much preferable of course

concatenate ogg/theora files
Hi, I have multiple ogg/theora files, with different bitrate. That is the big problem, because I want to broadcast them using ezstream/icecast and the connection between ezstream and icecast is always lost when switching between files. They have the same resolution but different quality. Is there a tool to concatenate/normalize several files to a big homogeneous one? -- A powerfull GroupWare,

merging flac files
Hi! I was hoping there was a tool which would let me do something like: #flax -o existing.flac --append mytune.flac To merge the 2 files! Also; is it possible to change the velocity/gain of a flac track ? I would love to know how! Regards, Frans

Flac and OggFlac
HI all, I have already added FLAC support to libsndfile and I am now working on adding support for OggFLAC. I have a couple of question about things that seem radically different between regular FLAC and OggFLAC. 1) FLAC has a function: FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_get_decode_position but there seems to be no corresponding function:

Flac and lyrics
Both MPEG-4 File Format (mp4) and Matroska (mkv) have an interesting format for lyrics and subtitles. Since these container formats can contain multiple contain streams, lyrics or subtitles are just another "stream" interleaved with the rest of the data. They are synchronized by having timestamps like any other stream. The payload is just text data. If you don't care about

adwantages of ogg container?
Hallo all, euphoria with cheese, the project i working on, i needed to make decision about codecs and containers we use. I'm clearly not expert in this. After the euphoria about vp8/webm going slowly to the end, i see advantages what theora has against vp8. Seems like theora perform better on LoEnd hardware. Even x264 with good optimisation work not really good on slow Athom. My question to

seeking problems
Hey guys, I just joined the list. I've been programming an external for PureData <http://pure-data.sourceforge.net/> & <http://pure-data.org>, as well as for Max/MSP....that reads multiple sound formats. But, I've been having massive problems with getting reliable seeking with FLAC. sometimes when I call FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_seek_absolute, I get a false

can't demux with ogminfo / need to re-pac OGV to MKV
Hello, I need to demux video files created with ffmpeg2theora 0.28+svn18147 I have ogminfo v1.5 and getting this error (ogminfo.c) OGG stream 1 is of an unknown type (bad header?) (ogminfo.c) OGG stream 2 is of an unknown type (bad header?) (ogminfo.c) (a1/serial 1092562206) Vorbis audio (channels 2 rate 48000) Is possible, that ogminfo is older then ffmpeg2theora ? Or what can be the reason?

Flac and lyrics
Hi, I haven't seen any information about Lyrics in the documentation and mail archives, so I guess the answer... but may be I've missed something... Does flac support lyrics? Regards, J?r?me

OGG/OGM media container
Hi all, Xiph aims at developing open-standards media formats. Though xiph.org tells about vorbis/theora/flac/speex, nothing is mentioned about container to use (that is ogg/ogm). I have a few questions Is there a difference between ogg and ogm? I guess its only the extension that is different and everything else is same. Some tools (like ogmtools) are available to create ogm files. What is

Trouble implementing ov_callbacks, endless loop calling seek_func
Hello list, I've been having a tough time adding windows resource support to my ogg vorbise decoder, although I think I am close. Basically when I call ov_open_callbacks(), it doesn't ever return and repeatedly calls my seek_func. I'm hoping it is something obvious, but I can't see why my seek_func is being called endlessly. If the file is seekable, I should return 0, right? If

Idea to possibly improve flac?
I'd like to express a few things whilst I have the ear atleast a few folks. There once was a program called oddcast, and then edcast that you could use on linux to broadcast an OggFLAC encoded audio stream from jack. Sounds like something many folks would be interested in doing, but I haven't heard to much of a peep about it. At any rate, it had a a few issues legally and technical
