[Flac-users] Can I use Vorbis comment on ogg - flac?
Hello flac-users, I'm storing my ripped CDs on FLAC until Vorbis 1.0 gets out (supposedly RSN). But I want to enter the vorbis comment just once. Since I'll use ogg bitstream for both files, I was wondering if I could use vorbiscomment or tOGGer on ogg-flac files? Is there any tool (besides de pipe) to convert ogg-flac to ogg-vorbis? Best regards, Alejandro Belluscio

Multiplexed Ogg and header problems.
I there was a discussion on the vorbis list about Real Audio SureStream (tm) format. The basic idea was that they put multiple RA files with different compression levels. So when they have to switch the bit rate due to bandwidth changes, they choose from the streams they have. Since peeling is a long time away, it could be implemented with ogg vorbis multiplexing several times the same

[Flac-users] WinAmp PlugIn and Ogg framing.
Hello flac-users, I'm trying to play an ogg flac file in WinAmp 2.80 but I get nothing. I'm using the native Vorbis plugin and the shipped FLAC 1.04 plugin. I guess it's a conflict regarding which plugin "owns" the ogg extension or format. I'm not sure. But I wanted to know how good the ogg framing was. But I couldn't test it because metaflac doesn't

Fwd: Re: [Flac-users] Can I use Vorbis comment on ogg - flac?
I was wondering if I could use tOGGer in ogg-flac files. So I asked Josh. His answer is quoted below (spoiler: doesn't think so). And when I tried tOGGer it didn't work. So I guess his right. But I wanted to know if his speculation is right (i.e. vorbiscomment saves comments in the first Vorbis packet). And if so why. I´m not sure how is Theora working. But it seemed logical to me that

Server cutover complete; waiting for root server DNS propogation
Hello, All services have been successfully migrated to our new facility. Unfortunately, NetSol once again displayed a brilliant inability to grasp a clue using both hands and a suction cup, and informed us they *might* get around to updating DNS records in about two weeks. If we could fax them enough identification. Needless to say, they've lost our business and our domain transfers should

Repository of vorbiscomment text files?
First, the in the links section of www.vorbis.com is a link to http://www.vorbislinks.com/ which no longer a vorbis dedicated site (it's one of those general dns parking/general index). I don't know who's the webmaster, it is implied that's Simon Yorkston, but I'm not sure. Anyway, the real rason of this mail is that I'm ripping my CDs collection, and I'm taking a

What tags are allowed in ogg files?
Hi, I'm writing a tag-editor for ogg files. What tags, besides ogg-tags, are allowed in ogg files (if any). I'm thinking of id3v1, id3v2, ape tags and so on. I have a (probably small) problem with writing a new "comment header". I have tried opening a file with a valid header, and then simply moved some of the comment tags position, so that the total size and the count still

midi data to control lighting desks
Hi- just wondering how things are progressing on the stick-midi-data-inside-a-vorbis-file (so i can sit back, relax & get drunk instead of manually doing a really complicated lighting show) <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org'

mistake in FLAC++ metadata interface?
Hi all, Using the FLAC++ level 2 metadata interface the following function doesn't do what you would expect: cuesheet->get_track(i).get_num_indices(); (where cuesheet is a FLAC::Metadata::CueSheet *) It returns a bool instead of an int, why is this? To get the mumber of indicies in a track I need to use: cuesheet->get_track(i).get_track()->num_indices; ie. retrieve the C struct

new CUESHEET metadata block

My vision of how the players should work is this: - make one album.flac with CUESHEET - player loads album.flac, sees CUESHEET, calculates CDDB id (or CDindex, or custom
