[Flac-users] FLAC 1.0.4 build issue
Hi, I gave up on 1.0.4 on my osx machine for the time being, but needed it on a linux machine this morning. Grabbed 1.0.4 and it seemed to build ok, but doesn't pass make check. Sorry if this is redudant information. I've seen a few posts recently and can't tell if it is or not. flac-1.0.3 on the same machine builds, checks and runs fine. thanks, mike ERROR: iterator claims

Back & Fourth
So let me get this straight... I can put a CD in my computer and copy it to my hard drive as a wav files. Then by using FLAC to "compress" said wavs into .flac files. Resulting in approx. half the file size. Then later I can convert the FLAC files back to wav and the end up with the EXACT wav file I had before ? If this is the case, then great, but can you really cut out half the

about strsplit
Hello, I want to split a string including a "+" but it seems there is no effect because of this special character. Just to explain, I convert frequencies to midi notes (external program) but I don't want to keep information about quater-tone! > s <- c("Fd4+1/4") (i't a note!) > strsplit(s,"+") [[1]] [1] "F" "d" "4"

[Flac-users] more front-end trouble
Two wavs I tried to encode tonight got errors near their ends, saying something like "skipped unknown sub-chunk 'LIST'." These occurred at 97% into one file and 98% into the other. If I hadn't brought the DOS command window to the foreground and hadn't been at the monitor watching before these warnings were scrolled away by the displays from work on other files in the

Reseted net statistics
Hi all, sometimes I?m checking status of my server with phpSysInfo, always is all right, but at May 8 I was experienced a "big deviation". My machine was online for 12 days, but net statistics are reseted. I was checked /proc/net/dev and there are reseted net statistics too. How is this possible? Just before I was experienced this problem I was updating two packages with yum

[Flac-users] troubles with 1.0.3 beta4 front-end
When you maximize the window, the position of the Fingerprint button doesn't adjust; the Help function still scrolls the first two screenfuls together without a break, so that the first screenful is impossible to read; not sure how, but the first time I tried it, it locked up and couldn't close (needed a three-finger salute). This is under WindowsME on a vintage 1998 266MHz Pentium II.

MD5 Question
I know this is probably a really stupid question, but why is FLAC's MD5 checksum different than the MD5 checksum of the original (input) .wav? I was under the impression that since each FLAC file contains metadata that can be changed without changing the audio (thus changing the MD5 checksum of that FLAC file) that the checksum of the original .wav file would instead be used. If that's

cophenetic matrix
Hello, I analyse some free-sorting data so I use hierarchical clustering. I want to compare my proximity matrix with the tree representation to evalute the fitting. (stress, cophenetic correlation (pearson's correlation)...) "The cophenetic similarity of two objects a and b is defined as the similarity level at wich objects a and b become members of the same cluster during the course of

entourage pop to dovecot imap migration
I'm beginning to migrate my years of mail stuck in Entourage 2004 (MacOSX) to dovecot imap on Fedora FC4. No matter how I have tried I cannot get the status flags to migrate. Eg: all the mail, once transfered from the pop archive to the imap server looses all Status: and X-Status: flags and ends up being marked "new" on the imap side. After lots of testing it appears that,

[PATCH] Fix for odd RIFF size
Brian Willoughby wrote: > The ckSize field can be odd to represent the size of the valid data. > > However, the chunk itself must always be an even size. This requires a padding byte at the end of a chunk before the next chunk can begin, or before the end of file. The latter case is the one that most often occurs in buggy RIFF writing programs - the last chunk will have an odd ckSize and
