Convert skeleton to "regular" format
Hi there, we just encountered a problem with some tools obviously encoding into the skeleton format by default, which leads to problems with several other tools, in that particular case it's oggCut. When we try to edit/cut an ogg file with it, the program crashes with a segfault. I was able to locate and fix the problem in the oggCut source but I am wondering how to convert my ogg files to a

Convert skeleton to "regular" format
> > I thought I fixed the problem with oggCut and ogg skeleton. What version of the Ogg Video Tools are you actually using? If you fixed the problem, I would be happy for a patch :-). > Well, the fix was more of a hack :) I was using oggvideotools 0.7a and the fix is removing the output from lines 189-191 in oggCut.cpp. The toString() method seems to trigger the segfault. oggcat or other ways to combine theora videos (with or without re-encoding)?
hi guys, first of all, i'd like to ask if there any crossplatform software/service ( gui is also better, an online application like firefogg is great, or at least a command line tools for any platform) to combine theora videos, other than oggcat... i am doing some art projects that people should be able to remix featured theora videos and i find oggcat very usefull in theory but not in

Ogg Pages Play Time?
Are all audio pages in a Ogg/Vorbis stream the same size? do they have the same playback duration? I am developing a P2P streaming application where each client has to dowload the Ogg/Vorbis pages from other clients (peers) but I need to know how much time I have to download the next Ogg/Vorbis page before the playback reaches it. Something like numCurrPages = Total of Ogg Pages already

How to fix broken ogg/theora files
Hello there, we are among the last people to actually make use of the Ogg/Theora format. Ok, just kidding, but in fact we do live and archival streaming of various IT conferences. You can take a look at some here if you are interested: https://streaming.linux-magazin.de/en We are using several tools for live streaming, recording and editing Theora streams, among them ffmpeg2theora and oggCut

Fixing ogg vorbis corruption caused by bad metadata
I have over 1,000 ogg vorbis files that are no longer playable or editable. I believe the main cause was a MediaMonkey plugin that automatically fetched album art and added it to the header. The plugin itself just uses the generic MediaMonkey metadata facility, but something happened -- perhaps when the album art bitmap image was too large -- that caused the files to no longer work.

Samba 3.0, fuse-hdfs and write problems
Hi folks, I research at the moment a connection over fuse and samba for hadoop-cluster. Its my private playground, but I have some issues I can't figure out why they happen. I use RHEL5.7, packetlist: rpm -qa|grep samba samba-3.0.33-3.29.el5_7.4.x86_64 samba-common-3.0.33-3.29.el5_7.4.x86_64 2 servers, one provides samba-shares and one I use as client. crc
I'm trying to generate the 4-byte crc code for the comment tag in an ogg file.. Can anyone point me to a function where this is done? Unfortunately, I can't use the lib directly, and the crc function I did find in it doesn't seem to do what I want directly. But, that might mean I'm not feeding it the right chunk of data. Any details would be helpful - yes I read the docs and I

samba-3.0.9-1.3E.2
I wouldn't normally hurry you guys about a package release, (because you're doing an excellent job), but any eta on the above? samba-3.0.9-1.3E.1 is in the current repos and that install seriously fubar'd my ADS + winbind setup. samba-3.0.9-1.3E.2 (which requires krb5-libs-1.2.7-31) fixes the problem. NB, samba-3.0.7-1.3E.1 (the old version) was fine for me, its only this

Newbie: How to rewind a videostream (long)
Hello, I'm new to this list, and pretty much also to the codec universe. In a computer game I'm working on, there is an 3D TV-screen onto which I project the frames of a movie. The movie is of course stored as theora, no audio as it's not needed yet. I have it working so far, extracting a frame and uploading it to the graphics card when the scene is drawn. The example file

Speex issue
Hey there I had implemented Speex encoding nicely in an application I was working on when I realized that I needed to change the API. I changed it, and the change somehow broke the speex encoding section of the code. The program writes SPX headers that other programs can read, but does not generate the rest of the file correctly. I have been through the guide "programming with

trouble getting libvorbis to cut beginning of the bitstream
I'm having trouble getting libvorbis to cut the beginning of a bitstream when I instruct it to do so with granulepos. I have constructed a file which I believe should have its beginning truncated. I have attached it to this mail. Here is a picture of what the bitstream looks like, as output by a python program that uses pyogg/pyvorbis to read the stream and print a representation:

immediate Descendants not working in IE
Hi, im currently styling a menu using a java script effect which hides the nested submenus on load, and also shows/hides them on mouseover. It is working in firefox, using ... var ul = $("nav").getElementsByTagName("ul")[0]; var lis = ul.immediateDescendants(); I then loop through lis to initially hide all the submenus. This works fine in firefox, but not in IE. The sub
