This sounds like an Ogg thing rather than a codec specific thing, so
I've trimmed
all but ogg-dev.

[Vorbis-dev] MT9 Capabilities
Hm, well is there a way to label the different tracks in an ogg file right
now? That way they could be labeled with "Lead Vocal" "Lead Guitar" etc.
I've filed a bug report on launchpad but wasn't sure that i understood it
all correctly and worded it right-- please add to it as you see fit

Unless a Skeleton track is used instead (this is supposed to describe
the tracks within a multiplexed Ogg stream).
But Skeleton is nascent too.

Ogg/Kate preliminary documentation
Hi,
I've now uploaded the preliminary documentation on the xiph wiki:
http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/OggKate
Attached is the current source tree for the libkate library.
The tarball also contains the patch to oggmerge (which you will need
to apply if you want to merge Kate streams with Vorbis or Theora streams)
and the patch to MPlayer to use Kate streams as subtitles.
An example is

Ogg/Kate, a karaoke and text codec for embedding in Ogg
Hi there,
I'm not sure what the right place would be, please direct me to where is
most appropriate
if not this list.
I am currently working on a codec designed for karaoke and text information,
to be embedded
in an Ogg container. It includes text, motion information, and
style/placement.
At the moment, the bitstream design is still in flux, but draws heavily from
Vorbis and Theora,

ok i admit this statement came as a surprise for me.
cmml is about metadate/annotations, how can it be replaced
by KATE ( which is mainly about subtitles as far as i can see?

Skeletal relations
We have new drafts of CMML 4.0 as a text codec and ROE as an xml
stream abstract, subsuming the authoring support in CMML 3.1 and
earlier.
Another thing we talked about at LCA is a how to specify
relationships between the various streams in Ogg so that a server,
muxer or player can make intelligent decisions about the contained
tracks. The general idea is to use the (http-style) Message

Ogg/Kate preliminary documentation
Hi,
I recognize the main name behind CMML here :)
Does the redesigning of CMML allow overlapping clips ?
This is the main reason of my current ramblings about seeking.
While karaoke was one of the initial goals behind kate, it is just
a way the format can be used with (in fact, the format itself does
not refer to karaoke at all, but styles and motions).
At the moment, it is a fairly versatile

I'd suggest at some point to look into separate stream solution for
metadata, perhaps M3F [1].

Possible to exclude an event in Puppet dashboard?
Hi All,
I was wondering if it is possible to NOT show an event in puppet dashboard.
I have an exec resource that fires of a ruby script. This is triggering a
changed event on every run, but actually I want to exclude this from
showing up as "CHANGED"
Is this possible, if so how can I achieve this?

Puppet/webrick benchmark
We haven''t been able to use mongrel for testing yet, but in order not to
waste time, we did some performance testing with 1, 2 and 4
puppetmasterd/webrick processes.
Attached is an HTML page (ripped from our wiki - not pretty, but
reasonably readable) which describes the method and results.
If someone feels like making some nice graphs, that would be great. If
not, I''ll try to

puppetmasterd memory usage
Hi,
We have dedicated puppet master boxes, which basically only run a
mongrel/puppetmasterd (6 instances), an apache proxy for mongrel and
puppetd.
Recently puppetmasterds seemed to have leaked almost all of the RAM, and
the thrashing made the box painfully slow.
We restarted the puppetmasterd processes, and started collecting some
statistics. Attached is a graph of memory usage on one of the

Strangeness with a definition
I''m having problems with a definition not being found.
I get the following error when running puppetd -vt:
err: Could not find type "manual_apt_get_update" in file
/etc/puppet/manifests/definitions/apt_misc.pp at line 22
The definition is present for sure. Can anyone spot a problem with the
code below?

Karaoke
Ok, both mp3 with id2v2 and Vorbis allow you to store the lyrics within the
song.
But do You know about karaoke format? That is midi with lurics as one of the
tracks.
Can such a modification be made to OGG Vorbis?

I disagree that karaoke is simple; to do karaoke properly is about as
complex as text codecs get.
I also disagree that CMML is complex, but I may be mistaken. In terms
of complexity, I see it as about 10% of the way between using

listing the clients
All,
Once the puppet clients are installed, is there a option to list the client
in the server.
mind you I never meant the cert - signing list.. which would be puppetca
--list.
Thanks for your help

"not authorized" when testing mongrel support
Hi,
We''re trying to follow the instructions at
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/UsingMongrel
(Just using a single puppetmaster/mongrel instance and plain mod_proxy for now,
instead of balancer one)
We got past the "Server is not a class" error by modifying mongrel.rb
We also kind-of got past the:
/opt/bin/puppetmasterd:293: undefined method `daemonize'' for
