The following is taken from the Release notes for 2.2.3 (which will be
released in a month or so).
2) There has been ongoing confusion about how the
/etc/shorewall/routestopped file works. People understand how it
works with the ''shorewall stop'' command but when they read that
''shorewall restart'' is logically equivalent to ''shorewall

Shorewall 2.0.11
No need to upgrade to this release if you already have the new bogons
file or don''t use that file. The primary change is a fix to the
install.sh script which previously gave an error on a new install.

The patches may be found at:

I found these patches on the netfilter-devel list and make no warranties

IPSEC vs OpenVPN
While I have concentrated on support for 2.6 native IPSEC in release
2.2.0, I am still of the opinion that unless you absolutely need IPSEC
compatibility that OpenVPN is a much easier (and in the case of
roadwarriors, a much better) solution.
Having already generated all of the required X.509 certificates, it took
me less than 1/2 hr to replace my IPSEC testbed with an OpenVPN one

RE: Outlook Web Access behind shorewall firewalldoesn''t work
Thanks for such a quick reply Tom!
Any suggestions then as to what I might do other than putting a second
nic in the SBS and opening it up for web access? I don''t like the idea,
but since MS SBS includes fireall that is actually what MS suggests.
