PATCH for cpu.c
Explanation of changes in this patch: 1) 'CALLBACK' was changed to 'WINAPI' because the signature of an unhandled exception filter is LONG (WINAPI *unhandled_func)(struct _EXCEPTION_POINTERS); 2) The code if(info->ia32.fxsr || info->ia32.sse || info->ia32.sse2) { [...] } was replaced by if(info->ia32.sse) { [...] } else

FreeBSD 4.x problem resolved
Bryan Levin reported a problem of the FreeBSD flac port dumping core on FreeBSD 4.x: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1099004&group_id=13478&atid=113478 It turns out that the port enabled SSE support, but FreeBSD 4.x does not support SSE by default. (FreeBSD 5.x and later do.) I have added a small patch to the port to check at runtime whether the system

Trying to link against libFLAC_static.lib (windows)
Hi. I'm trying to get a project linking to libFLAC_static.lib but I get linker errors such as the following. 6>AudioDecoder.lib(CFlacDecoder.obj) : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol __imp__FLAC__stream_decoder_process_until_end_of_metadata referenced in function "protected: int __thiscall CFlacDecoder::CreateDecoder(void)" (?CreateDecoder at CFlacDecoder@@IAEHXZ)

__restirct ignored when including headers like <cmath>
Hi, I am observing a strange behaviour in which Clang ignores __restirct when I include some standard headers. For example, this code: void vec_add(int* __restrict a, int* __restrict b, int n) { #pragma unroll 4 for(int i=0; i<n; ++i) { a[i] += b[i]; } } results in: ; Function Attrs: nofree norecurse nounwind define dso_local void @_Z7vec_addPiS_i(i32*

PPC asm is disabled since Jan 2005
Erik de Castro Lopo wrote: >> I suspect that PPC/Altivec asm code is disabled for good. > > I agree. Does it make sense to keep this code, then? Nobody managed to fix this when it was timely, and now PPC (at least PPC for desktop use) is a legacy platform. 2) Also I suspect that 3dnow is useless for 99.999% of FLAC users. And not so useful for the rest 0.001%. 3) A lot of code in

Here's what I listed in that email. Merging doesn't appear to be necessary. If you have any build problems, let me know. Note that my detection code is Darwin-specific. It's a BSD call (sysctl()), so a change to the platform-detection macros should enable it to work on other BSDs. However, I don't know what that would be, and I couldn't determine any safe way to do the check

PATCH for cpu.c
Hi, after having some discussion of the FPU/SSE behavior on the sf.net bug tracker as well as having some other changes we made for the MAME/MESS project sitting around I thought about joining this list to make things easier. First one is the latest modification we had to make to compile with clang 3.4 x64. Here are the warnings the 1.2.1 source will give with it:

Problem with CVS prune on samba shares?
Platform: Dell Latitude D600 laptop, Pentium M debian sarge (testing/unstable) samba 3.0.2a-1 VMWare Workstation 4.5.1-7568 w/XP Professional I'm running XP under VMWare. The directory I'm working on, is actually a network share exported by samba from the linux host. The reason is that I don't wish to fill up my disk with VMWare virtual disk images. Performancewise this

Altivec, automake
I think I've gotten FLAC__lpc_restore_signal() about as good as I'm going to get it. Here's what I have: -a new file, lpc_asm.s, which has the assembly routines -changes to cpu.h, cpu.c, and stream_decoder.c to enable them -changes to configure.in to support the new cpu stuff -a preliminary Makefile.am -maybe something else I'm forgetting Now automake complains that configure.in
