autogen.sh failing over samba share
Hi,
I have the source tree of a project exported with samba. autogen.sh on
the host filesystem (ext4) runs fine while it fails on the samba share
with:
autoreconf: Entering directory `.'
autoreconf: configure.ac: not using Gettext
autoreconf: running: aclocal -I m4

Strange stuff in autogen.sh
Hi,
In compiz' autogen.sh, there are these lines:
# work around bgo 323968
ln -s ../po config/po
intltoolize --force --copy --automake || exit 1
rm config/po
Now, I'm not really familiar with that intltoolize/autotools/etc.-stuff, but
am courious what this is for?
What does bgo 323968 mean? Is this a bug number? It isn't in the fdo-bugzilla.
The reason I'm investigating this

[PATCH 2/5] autogen.sh: replace this by a simple call to autoreconf
The autoreconf tool is provided by autoconf to do what custom
autogen.sh scripts in many projects used to do. Only it is more
robust and widely tested. It has been available for several years,
too. No reason to rely on custom code for this.

Need expert help with model.matrix
Dear experts:
Is it possible to create a new function based
on stats:::model.matrix.default so that an alternative factor coding is used
when the function is called instead of the default factor coding?
Basically, I'd like to reproduce the results in 'mat' below, without having
to explicitly specify my desired factor coding (identity matrices) in the
'contrasts.arg'.

rsync fails to retrieve file (if local file is incorrect)
I'm using rsync on an embedded powerpc platform
with flash filesystem.
Because of a power-cycle a local file got corrupted.
This file is /flashfs/isd1, it has the correct size but
wrong MD5SUM (cd5...).
Using rsync to retrieve the right file (from a remote machine)
fails!
If I delete the file first, it works (see below).
How is this possible ?

[PATCH libguestfs] build: make autogen.sh update .git-module-status, as it should
I ran autogen.sh, but then make was always failing like this:
$ make
cfg.mk:141: *** gnulib update required; run ./autogen.sh first. Stop.
Here's the fix:

Could this autogen.sh script be added?
Could someone add this autogen.sh script to the
toplevel of openssh_cvs?
Many projects include an autogen.sh script
so that folks need not remember what auto
commands need to get run and in what order.
% cat autogen.sh
#!/bin/sh
# Run this program (./autogen.sh) after changing any of
# the files that are used to automatically generate
# other files.
