Samba 4.4.3 debian wheezy backport intructions
Hi, Backported samba-4.4.3 from debian unstabel to debian wheezy today. May be of interest for others so i share the instructions and patches here. Ten packages from unstabel must be backported, I modified some to use python2.7 and removed dependencies to python2.6 and python3 (the later is not available in an recent enough version on wheezy/wheezy-backports). 1. building samba git master: error with pyldb-util/ldb

I generally like to install things that are released separately in separate packages. Updated Shorewall build and publish scripts
Attached please find updated build and publish scripts. They set the ''ulink.target'' parameter appropriately when converting docbook->HTML. I have always hacked my xhtml/params.xsl file to set this parameter; these updated scripts make that abomination unnecessary. Paul/Mike: It might be a good idea to add a CVS project for these scripts. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is

website spec updated
I've installed new complete-page versions of the vorbis spec on the website: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/ the per-section html versions have not yet been updated. I also updated docbook, xsltproc, and tetex on motherfish, and installed a catalog file in /etc/xml/catalog since the docbook stuff is a little hard to get going. The docs should build out of the box there now

That is halfway there, so lets ask the second question in a different way ;-) Did you have all these packages installed before you compiled Samba: ---------> yes, all are installed > > acl \ > apt-utils \ > attr \ > autoconf \ > bind9utils \ > binutils \ > bison \ > build-essential \ > curl \ > debhelper \ > dnsutils \ > docbook-xml \ > docbook-xsl

winbind service panics "randomly"
Hey Roland, Since my last e-mail, I went to sleep and left the thing running. It's a production server (from "9 to 5") and for the last hours it has been working flawlessly. I'm beginning to think it's not really "random". Not really sure it's a bug; it seems to happen when I check it with wbinfo (the log I sent was a good example). But not always. Weird. 1)
